Sarah Hadland is addicted to cleaning. The Strictly star admits she gets a thrill from doing household chores because she finds them so satisfying.

The actress, who found fame playing Miranda’s sidekick said: “Cleaning is my love. I really love it. My favourite type is cleaning a floor. Who doesn’t love a floor? It’s instant gratification. I watch lots of cleaning videos on YouTube. I love all that kind of thing.

“It’s the cathartic power of it… it’s so powerful. It’s also something you can control. You can have a quick scrub of a floor and go, ‘Great, that’s done, tick’.”

Sarah is busy being a TV actress on shows including BBC comedy Daddy Issues. But if she wasn’t doing that, she’s up for becoming a cleaner.

She added: “In another life, I was a cleaner. But I would only want to do certain people’s houses. I’d pick and choose.

“I’d go around with a clipboard and go, ‘Yes, I will clean that’ and ‘No, I won’t clean that’.

“I’d want somewhere with lots of big spaces. I can do some decluttering, but I’d want some big clear spaces where I could really get to work.”

It appears Sarah, who at one point was tipped to win the Glitterball trophy, is in a minority with her love of cleaning floors.

A recent poll revealed that sweeping and mopping floors squeezed on to the top ten most hated cleaning jobs in Britain in last place.

The most loathed household chores included scrubbing the microwave and oven, cleaning fridge-freezers, and tackling grout lines.

The survey of 2,000 adults revealed that other detested tasks around the house include degreasing the stove and sprucing up the shower. Dusting shelves and tables, along with skirting boards, also made it onto the list.

The poll, commissioned by Flash, also showed that 49% of surveyed Brits agreed that dusting was the most neglected household chore.
