Trouble-stirring social media users joked Tommy Fury and Moll-Mae Hague’s relationship may be in trouble again if the mother of his child sees his recent entrance for a boxing bout
Tommy Fury has been lambasted for his ‘dramatic’ entrance to a boxing match. The reality TV star was seen frolicking and shadow boxing down to the ring in tassel shorts before his showdown with Kenan Hanjalic in Budapest last night.
While Tommy – half-brother of former world heavy-weight champ Tyson Fury – won the bout on points, his performance was criticised for being “uneven”. Pundits suggested he may have suffered from ring rust as his last fight was two years ago against Jake Paul.
In the post-fight interview, the 26-year-old paid tribute to his family and, in particular, mother of his child Moly-Mae Hague who he recently reconciled with after splitting last August.
He said: “I’ve been through a hell of a lot these last two years. I’ve been through things that tear men down – drunk, alcoholic.
“I lost my family for a little bit. But I’ve turned things around, I’ve gone from being low to being on top of the world again.”
However, social media users joked the relationship may be on the rocks again in Molly-Mae sees Tommy’s pre-fight antics. TikToker @Haleyybaylee shared a video of Fury’s entrance to her 13.7million followers.
The comment section of the video, which had 1.6million views, was alight with burning criticisms of Tommy. One said: “Molly Mae will be regretting her decision after seeing this.”
Another TikTok user who was not aware the reality TV couple were back together, said: “They’re back together?”
The quick-witted first commenter said: “Yeah exactly, she might be having second thoughts”.
Another user simply said: “Straight ICK!!!”. Meanwhile, a fourth person said: “I will never get shadow boxing.”
A fifth TikToker said: “Don’t let Molly see this.”
However, not everyone was happy with the sneering TikTok. One apparent Tommy fan said: “Everyone taking the mick out of him ‘air punching’, it’s literally him warming up. It’s not that deep.”
Molly-Mae confirmed she’s back with boxer Tommy in new episodes of her Behind It All documentary, released on Friday (May 9). The pair, who met on the 2019 series of Love Island, shocked fans when they announced their split last year.
But they jetted off to Dubai together with their daughter Bambi earlier this year and the trip seemed to cement their rekindled relationship. Molly shared the first photo of herself with Tommy at the end of the third episode of the Amazon Prime show.
