Love Island hunk vows to ‘knock out’ Jordan Banjo in ‘devastating’ fight

EXCLUSIVE: Love Island star Wil Anderson has spoken exclusively to Daily Star ahead of fight night on 16 May against Diversity icon Jordan Banjo and promised a “devastating knockout”

Love Islander Wil Anderson has issued a warning for Jordan Banjo ahead of fight night.

The reality star is going up against Diversity icon Jordan Banjo on 16 May at the Valliant Live Arena in Derby. Before heading into the ring, Wil spoke exclusively to Daily Star about his tactics for the ring.

He said: “I’ll knock him out, it’s just about whether it will be the first or second. I’m not sure. If it’s the third or fourth I’ll take it, but I’m hoping for the first or second!”

“On paper people might think that Jordan has an advantage but once the fight is done, everyone will see that I am levels above Jordan and they’ll put me in the same category as the best fighters.”

Wil admitted that he watched Jordan on Britain’s Got Talent when they won the third series back in 2009: “I did, yeah! I didn’t know who he was individually at the time, I must have been 12 years old? They’re a household name [Diversity].”

However, Jordan’s star status won’t affect how Wil treats him in the ring: “It is weird, to be honest I don’t necessarily think about it too much – it is more about the job, make sure that’s done. It’s just about the person in front of me.”

The Love Islander confirmed that girlfriend Uma Jammeh “will definitely be ringside on fight night” and explained that he’s been training hard to prepare for his battle with Banjo.

“I’ve been training extremely hard, two sessions a day, morning and evening and I’ll have a nap in between to revitalise my body. I’ve got a bit of a routine that I do. When I come back from boxing, I go into the sauna and steam room after every session. It’s part of my daily routine.”

Wil took the opportunity to make a promise to his opponent ahead of their big day: “Ooh, any last words for Jordan. Honestly, I’ve got so much respect for Jordan and we were friends before this, but I will win and it will be by a devastating knockout!”
