Katie Price’s children have reportedly been advised to distance themselves from her in public.
The 47-year-old reality star shares kids Junior, 19, and Princess, 17, with ex Peter Andre. Both Junior and Princess have been carving out their own careers, with Junior pursuing music like his dad and Princess has been tipped for reality TV.
Proud mum Katie, who recently suggested Princess should do Love Island, is said to be upset about some advice given to the pair. It’s claimed Junior and Princess have been “quietly urged” to keep their distance from her in public.
A source told Express.co.uk: “There’s been a clear shift. Princess and Junior love their mum but have been advised not to mix business with family, especially when it comes to joint red carpet appearances or interviews. It’s not about cutting her off, it’s about protecting their own brands.”
“She’s constantly in the headlines for the wrong reasons,” the source added. “It’s tough for her kids who are trying to build their own reputations. No one wants to see their parent branded ‘toxic’ online, but it’s the reality they’re navigating.”
Katie has faced a number of financial and legal issues in recent months, including the drama surrounding her bankruptcy case. She was arrested at Heathrow Airport last August after failing to attend a court hearing relating to her bankruptcies – instead flying off to Turkey.
In February 2024 it was revealed that the former glamour model owed over £750k in unpaid tax to HMRC. However, both of her bankruptcies have now been discharged.
Her overdue payments included income tax, VAT, surcharges, and interest, stemming from self-assessments for the two years up until 2022.
Katie told The Sun at the time: “I’m so happy. I can finally move on and put these bankruptcies behind me and now only focus on the positive. Thank you to everyone that has supported me through this process.”
Princess has recently signed several beauty deals and it’s reported she’s working on a reality TV project without her famous mum. Junior released his debut single, Slide, in 2022 and followed it up with Only One the followign year.
Katie has opened up about her relationship with her children. On her Katie Price Show podcast, she said: “They’re doing their own thing, they’re busy, but I’m always here for them.”
Discussing her relationship with ex Peter Andre, she admitted: “I don’t always agree with things, but at the end of the day we both love the kids and that’s what matters.” Katie’s representative declined to comment when contacted by Express.co.uk.
