Love Island's Sophie Piper and Mike Boateng in heated clash during cast reunion

Love Island stars Sophie Piper and Mike Boateng reunited for the first time this week since Rochelle Humes ‘ younger sister had a unleashed a Tik Tok clip, which Sophie claimed was a joke.

A clash took place on Capital XTRA as the islanders rekindled for the first time since the snippet had been circulated on social media.

In the short clip, Sophie, 21, is seen mimicking Mike’s awkward conversation he held with Leanne Amaning, when they were an item on the ITV2 show, before she called time on their relationship.

The programme’s first ever winter islanders recently reunited for a joint radio interview, but things soon got out of hand as Mike and his islander girlfriend Priscilla Anyabu questioned Sophie and Leanne about the video.

Sophie, 21, said: “That was literally a joke, the Tik Tok thing, obviously we were asked to do it and we literally done it as a joke.”

Mike tried to get his two pennies in but was shut down quickly by Sophie: “Sorry I’m talking, can I just, sorry, we literally done it as a joke, there was no malice.

“They were literally like, ‘Should we do a funny Tik Tok blah blah blah’. We done it as a joke.”

An all too angry Mike didn’t quite get the banter of the clip, in retaliation he snapped back : “You know what that’s fine but it wasn’t funny.”

It would seem that the pair were not going to see eye-to-eye on the matter as Sophie continued to insist that she wasn’t “taking the mick” with Mike arguing that they shouldn’t have created the video, despite being asked.

The former police officer, 28, continued: “It wasn’t actually funny first of all, second of all I found out through the public.

“Someone sent it to me like, have you seen this and I just saw bare comments of people ripping into me.”

Disagreeing with their approach Mike added: “I saw the video and I was like, ‘Woah what the hell’ and for me, we went to the same place, and they also asked me to do a similar video and I just said no.

“So for me, it’s one of them ones where you can never be forced to do anything, if you don’t want to do something, say no.”

Not wanting to have the last word, Sophie chirped back: “I wanted to do it. It was a bit of banter.”

Before Mike’s girlfriend from the show Priscilla intervened to defend her beau.

She explained: “It was a bit untasteful, I think that’s what it is. When you lot say funny, that wasn’t really funny.”
