    Mar 17, 2020
AceShowbiz – Roddy Ricch has become the first star to spend 10 weeks at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 since Lil Nas X’s historic run last year (19).
The rapper’s “The Box” holds off a charging Dua Lipa, who ends Future and Drake’s record breaking eight week run at number two with “Don’t Start Now”, which is the most-heard hit on U.S. radio this week.
Future and Drake’s “Life is Good” falls a spot to three.
Meanwhile, Lil Uzi Vert, who debuted “Eternal Atake” at the top of the Billboard albums chart on Sunday, March 15, has debuted three songs in the Hot 100’s top 10, led by “Baby Pluto” at six.

And Drake is now the most successful Hot 100 artist ever after scoring his 208th mention on the countdown with the collaborative “Oprah’s Bank Account”, which debuts at number 89.
The hit puts the Canadian rap star one chart entry ahead of the “Glee” Cast.

Lil Uzi Vert Reaches Out to Artist Accusing Him of Plagiarism Over 'That Way' Cover Art

    WENN/FayesVision

The ‘Sauce It Up’ spitter has responded to a Korean artist’s claim that the rapper stole his work for the album’s cover, promising that he will compensate the artist for the inspiring work.
    Mar 17, 2020
AceShowbiz – Lil Uzi Vert is speaking out on plagiarism accusations. A little over a week after releasing “Eternal Atake” album that included a bonus song “That Way”, the “Sauce It Up” rapper was accused of copying a South Korean artist’s work for the track’s cover art, but he was quick to own up to his mistake.
On Saturday, March 14, the artist identified as Tae Tae took to Instagram to post a side-by-side photo of his original work and “That Way” cover art. “I am very upset that I have to write such an article,” he wrote in his post. “I saw lil uzi vert’s latest album cover art and it was very similar to my painting.”
“My picture was posted on my blog six years ago, and it is possible to use it for profile pictures or non-commercial purposes, but it is not allowed to use anything else,” the artist continued explaining. “Now I’m very embarrassed and don’t want to let this go.”

Upon noticing the similarities, fans flooded Tae Tae’s post with comments calling for Uzi. Not turning a blind eye to the issue, the 25-year-old rapper liked the post and responded, “Hey, I’m not a mean person or a thief. I get inspired a lot if you want money I will have my team contact you and give you money Signed … Baby Pluto P.s. You’re a great artist.”

Lil Uzi Vert responded to plagiarism accusation.
The “20 Min” rapper went on in a follow-up reply, “Just because I’m famous doesn’t mean imma ignore the problem or shove money.” He further explained, “I wanna help in all areas I love art it’s the only thing that keeps me okay and leveled.”

The ‘Sauce It Up’ rapper continued to right a wrong.
Uzi was apparently serious about his offer as Tae Tae, whose real name is Tae Yeon Lee, confirmed that the musician’s team has contacted him. “We are currently talking to Lil Uzi’s management and there is no conclusion on compensation,” he told the Daily Dot. “I will take legal action if the communication is not good.”
Though his artwork was being copied, the artist assured he didn’t have any bad blood with Uzi. “I’m not in a bad mood. I don’t hate Lil Uzi,” he noted. “But I had to insist on my rights to the work this way and I’m a little tired of it.”
Meanwhile, the animator behind “That Way” cover, Artxstic, has also responded to Tae Tae’s accusation. Sharing a capture of the plagiarism news, he wrote in an Instagram Story post, “This guy covered the whole ordeal pretty well. No I’m not mad at Uzi and yes I’m gonna make the original artist happy.”

Artxstic begged people to stop sending hate messages.
Seemingly receiving hates for the issue, Artxstic later returned to social media with a statement, “I learn from my mistakes, I’ll make a post about everything when everyone calms down and listens instead of bashing me for a mistake I’ve made. Been gaining a lot of hate, ni**as sending s**t like telling me to kill myself in my email, it’s crazy bruh. I’m young, I’m human I make mistakes, I’m trying to fix things.”

John Legend Inspired by Coldplay to Live Stream Home Concert Amid Social Distancing

    WENN/Nicky Nelson/Instar

After the British rock band announced they would be holding a mini concert from home on Instagram, the ‘All of Me’ hitmaker says he’ll be the next artist to do so.
    Mar 17, 2020
AceShowbiz – John Legend is taking Chris Martin’s lead in providing entertainment to those practicing social distancing amid the coronavirus pandemic. Shortly after the Coldplay frontman live-streamed a mini concert via Instagram, the “All of Me” hitmaker announced that he will also stage his own from the comfort of his home.
Coming out with the home concert idea was Martin who shared the invitation through his Twitter account on Monday, March 16. “Hello everyone. I hope you and your family are safe and healthy. If anyone feels like chatting and listening to some music, I’m going to do a livestream on the Coldplay Instagram #TogetherAtHome,” he tweeted.
Hours later, Legend retweeted Martin’s post and informed his devotees that he will be next. “My friend Chris Martin did a lovely little concert from home today. I’ll be doing one tomorrow at 1pm Pacific time. See you soon. We’ll try to get through this together! #TogetherAtHome,” the coach of “The Voice” announced.

The husband of model Chrissy Teigen shared more details of his mini-concert plan in a follow-up tweet. “It’ll be on Instagram Live at @johnlegend,” he wrote, adding that he would accept requests. In conclusion of the post, he asked fans to let him know “which other artists I should pass the torch to.”

John Legend will hold a live stream home concert amid social distancing.
Legend’s announcement has prompted singer-songwriter Jhene Aiko to tell him, “i would love to join the festivities.” Her tweet got the “All of Me” hitmaker to reply, “Perfect!!” Fellow singer Chantal Kreviazuk was also left intrigued by the home concert idea as she tweeted back, “Okay. Arm twisted. I will do one tomorrow evening. Ish. Announcement to come.”

Jhene Aiko wanted to join the festivity.

    Chantal Kreviazuk chimed in.
On the same day Martin did his home concert, President Donald Trump released a stricter set of 15-day guidelines to help protect Americans from the spread of COVID-19. Among the instructions, all Americans are advised to avoid gathering of more than 10 people.
“Each and every one of us has a critical role to play in stopping the spread and transmission of the virus,” said the President during the press conference. “If everyone makes this change or these critical changes and sacrifices now, we will rally together as one nation, and we will defeat the virus, and we’re going to have a big celebration altogether. With several weeks of focused action, we can turn the corner and turn it quickly.”

Billie Eilish on Coronavirus Pandemic: Don't Panic, but Don't Be Stupid

    WENN/Phil Lewis

Deciding to reschedule the remaining dates on her ‘Where Do We Go?’ tour, the ‘No Time To Die’ singer stresses that the trend for ‘social distancing’ is ‘everyone’s responsibility.’
    Mar 17, 2020
AceShowbiz – Billie Eilish has scrapped all remaining dates of her current tour, while urging fans not to be “stupid” amid the coronavirus pandemic.
The 18-year-old “No Time To Die” singer took to Twitter on Monday, March 16 to follow up her decision to postpone some shows last week, revealing that all her remaining “Where Do We Go?” North American tour dates would be rescheduled.

Billie Eilish announced that her upcoming tour was rescheduled due to Coronavirus.
She made a more personal announcement on her Instagram Story timeline, telling followers to pay attention to guidelines from officials at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
“Don’t panic, but don’t be stupid,” she wrote. “It (coronavirus) is a really big deal right now and it is not a joke. I know because a lot of us haven’t seen it with our eyes – what it’s been doing and who it’s been affecting – it’s hard to understand that it’s real. But it really is real, and I’ve seen a lot of young people out in the world, all over the place, going to the club or going to the beach, just going out and hanging out. It’s really irresponsible.”
She went on to note that the trend for ‘social distancing’ is “everyone’s responsibility” because people should consider the older, weaker people around them.
She also suggested fans stay inside as much possible and resist the temptation to buy up basic goods and toiletries in bulk: “Don’t panic, there’s enough supplies for people – don’t hoard things.”

Eilish joins a long list of big music names, who have been forced to cancel dates and entire tours due to the COVID-19 crisis. These include Queen, Foo Fighters, Green Day, and Madonna.
And she’s not the only A-list pop star urging followers to take health guidelines seriously – Ariana Grande, Taylor Swift and Bebe Rexha have also taken to social media to encourage fans to stay home and self isolate.

Lady GaGa Admits to Thinking About Canning 'Stupid Love' After Leak

    Instagram

Aside from sharing her thought on the online leak of her new single, the ‘Born This Way’ hitmaker opens up about spending two days in the California desert to film its music video.
    Mar 17, 2020
AceShowbiz – Lady GaGa almost threw away months of preparation after a demo of her single “Stupid Love” leaked online.
The singer dropped the track, the lead single from her upcoming album “Chromatica”, last month but, after the tune leaked online in January, GaGa almost canned the track altogether.
“There was a minute where me and my manager, Bobby, were talking, ‘Do we change the single?’,” she said. “We’d just spent months and months developing this video and choreography. And I said, ‘Nope!’ ”
“You know why? Because the song, when it’s mixed, mastered and finished with the visuals, and everything I have to say about it – when all those things come together at once, that will be the art piece I’m making. Not a leak.”
Alongside the release, GaGa dropped an accompanying music video, shot entirely on an iPhone, featuring Gaga as a warrior leader, attempting to unite various tribes.
The star recalled shooting the clip with 50 dancers for two days straight in the California desert, before reflecting: “The damn thing lasts three-and-a-half minutes!”
“I want you to imagine people dancing for eight to 10 hours straight,” she explained. “I watched them work so hard – the blood and sweat. Scrapes from dancing in the desert or getting poked in the eye from a stud that knocked them in the face. They’re breathing in sand, they can’t see. The conditions alone were ridiculous.”
    [embedded content]
“I told the dancers before we left for the desert, ‘This might be the hardest thing you’ve ever done, and if it’s not, I did it wrong. But you can do it, and when you look back on this time, you’ll remember how strong you are.’ ”

Charli XCX Muses Music Industry Shift Caused by Coronavirus Pandemic in 'Quarantine Diary'

    Instagram

Secluding herself at home amid the spread of COVID-19, the ‘Boom Clap’ singer shares tweets about the thoughts she has been having while stuck at home during the crisis.
    Mar 17, 2020
AceShowbiz – Charli XCX is penning a “quarantine” or “self-isolation” diary as she secludes herself at home during the coronavirus pandemic.
With concerts cancelled across the world, the star has been taking advice to avoid social contact with others to avoid spreading the COVID-19 disease that has swept the world since the beginning of the year.
To make the most of her time alone she has tweeted out what she called her “quarantine diary” of thoughts she has been having while stuck at home during the crisis – beginning day one on Sunday, March 15.
“Being a workaholic in quarantine is quite stressful,” she explained. “Yes, I’m doing as much as I can at home – creating moodboards, planning out ideas for videos, thinking about lyric changes in new songs,” but admitting she felt, “a bit purposeless.”

Musing on the way the world has come to a standstill and how it affects her mental health, she added, “As so many things get cancelled and a lot of things come to a halt around me, I start wondering – what if this change is permanent – or at least semi-permanent.”

The star, who later clarified she wasn’t officially in quarantine in another tweet, but practicing self-isolation and social distancing, went on to fret about the effects of the coronavirus crisis on her mental health and the music industry as a whole.

“Quarantine is also making me think about the possibilities of a shift within my industry. I’m talking extremes here – coz maybe this will all be over sooner than we hope – but if it isn’t – what will happen to live shows? Will the idea of gathering together at a concert or a club or a party become more and more distant??”

The “Boom Clap” hitmaker continued to wonder if live streams will replace gigs and TikTok surpass music videos and marketing, before promising to share more of her thoughts with her fans when she continued her diary.

2020 iHeartRadio Music Awards Scraps March 29 Ceremony As Result of Coronavirus

The music awards show has followed in the footsteps of Canada’s Juno Awards, the GLAAD Media Awards, the Razzie Awards, the Kids’ Choice Awards and the ACM Awards.
    Mar 17, 2020
AceShowbiz – The iHeartRadio Music Awards has been postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic and will not take place later this month.
The music awards bash, hosted by Usher, was set to take place on March 29 at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, but has been postponed as venue chiefs have announced they will be closed until at least the end of the month.
In a statement posted on Twitter, organisers and Fox network bosses wrote that they are postponing the show until an unspecified later date.
“The safety of our guests, employees, artists and partners is our main priority,” their statement reads. “iHeartMedia and Fox will plan to reschedule at the appropriate time and will provide more information and relevant updates as they become available. Refunds are being issued to ticketed guests.”
The spread of the virus across the world has caused the postponement or cancellation of prizegivings including Canada’s Juno Awards, the GLAAD Media Awards, the Razzie Awards, the Kids’ Choice Awards, and the ACM Awards.
Major gatherings in Los Angeles and other parts of California, one of the U.S. states hit hardest by the outbreak, have also been banned by government officials.

Performers at the event were set to include Usher, Halsey, Lizzo and Justin Bieber, with Ariana Grande, Bad Bunny, Billie Eilish, Camila Cabello, Cardi B, Lizzo, Post Malone, Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez, and Ed Sheeran among the nominees.
