Adele tells fans to 'be patient' as she shares update on fourth album

Adele has shared an update about her highly anticipated fourth album – but fans may be waiting a while for more music.

Over the weekend, the singer uploaded two Instagram pictures featuring herself enjoying her iconic Glastonbury performance in 2016.

Wearing the same dress she wore for her performance four years ago, the 32-year-old admitted she was “five ciders in” and having a ball watching her previous headline set.

However, one eager fan wrote: “Teaser? Album coming out today? Tell me now?!”

Adele responded: “Of course it’s not. Corona ain’t over. Wear a mask and be patient.”

It comes days after her manager Jonathan Dickins admitted that there is currently no date for when the project will hit shelves.

He told Newsweek: “It isn’t coming in September, it’ll be ready when it’s ready.”

Adele’s comment comes after she let slip new music was on the way earlier this year.

Attending the wedding of her best friend Laura Dockrill to The Maccabees guitarist Hugo Whitenoise in London in February, the Grammy-award winning musician grabbed a microphone and delivered an impromptu performance.

After belting out a few tunes, including Beyonce’s Crazy in Love and Spice Girls’ Spice Up Your Life, Adele told the crowd to expect new material “sometime in September”.

The album, which as of yet is untitled, will be Adele’s first album in five years.

Adele’s third album 25 reached number one in 32 countries and became the world’s best-selling album of 2015.

However, with the coronavirus pandemic continuing, many artists, including Adele, have decided to delay their releases.

This album could single-handedly save 2020.
