Elton John has been left ‘incredibly disappointed’ after illness has left him forced to reschedule a series of shows due to the fact he is unable to sing.
The music legend took to social media to express his sadness and promise to make it up to fans in the new year.
Elton, 72, said: “I’m incredibly disappointed to have to reschedule my remaining Auckland dates and I want to send my sincerest apologies to my amazing fans for any inconvenience caused.
“I always want to be able to give 100 percent and I’m afraid that, right now, I’m not able to do that.
“I am grateful for the love and loyalty I have been shown by all of you and I can’t wait to return in January next year to perform my final New Zealand shows.”

The new comes just days after Elton left the stage in tears due to his health.
The Rocketman singer was only able to manage half of his Auckland gig before calling it quits.
The emotional icon managed to tell the sell-out crowd “my voice has completely gone, I’m so sorry,” before being helped off stage.

As he did, the understanding crowd cheered and supported him.
Elton is currently suffering form walking pneumonia is a less severe version of pneumonia.
The illness is a bacterial infection that is often found in an individual’s lower and upper respiratory tract.
Taking to Twitter to explain his situation, Elton wrote: “I want to thank everyone who attended the #EltonFarewellTour gig in Auckland tonight.
“I was diagnosed with walking pneumonia earlier today, but I was determined to give you the best show humanly possible.

“I played and sang my heart out, until my voice could sing no more. I’m disappointed, deeply upset and sorry. I gave it all I had.”
The I’m Still Standing singer added in a later post: “Thank you so much for your extraordinary support and all the love you showed me during tonight’s performance.
“I am eternally grateful. Love, Elton xx”
