Tom Meighan has publicly apologised for “misleading” his fans after he published a statement surrounding his departure from Kasabian.
Earlier this week, the British group took to Twitter explaining the brand has “mutually agreed” for Tom to depart Kasabian due to “personal reasons”.
And on the same day, Meighan informed his online followers he was “doing well and in a really good place now”.
A day later, the 39-year was convicted of assaulting his ex-fiancée Vikki Ager after he pleaded guilty to the domestic abuse charge at Leicester Magistrates’ Court.

Taking to Twitter once again, he uploaded a grovelling apology, writing that he would “never knowingly misled fans”.
He put: “With regards my statement on Monday, I only wanted to assure everyone that I was in a good place mentally, compared to where I had been. At which point, I wasn’t able to acknowledge the pending case. I would never knowingly mislead fans and appreciate them greatly.
“Vikki and I hope to be able to move on from this as a stronger couple. I hope in time you can forgive me.”

Elsewhere in the statement, Tom opened up about his alcohol addiction, and explained he left a rehabilitation programme three weeks ago and is “getting through each day completely clean and sober”.
The incident involving Meighan and Ager took place in April and was caught on CCTV with the footage showing Meighan striking Ager before dragging her by her ankles into the back garden of their home.
He was spared jail but was ordered to undertake 200 hours of unpaid work.

Following Meighan’s court appearance, Kasabian penned a lengthy statement.
It read: “As soon as we found out about the charges made against Tom, we as a band made the decision that we could no longer work with him.
“Unfortunately we had to hold back this information until he was found guilty in court.
“We were led to believe that Tom would hold his hands up and in his statement tell everyone what he’d done but he chose not to, misleading a lot of fans.
“Ultimately, as much as Tom has hurt us all, we’re not the victims in all of this. Domestic violence is something that can never be excused.”
