Gogglebox was hit by Ofcom complaints last week after viewers accused the stars of the Channel 4 series of breaking coronavirus lockdown rules.
Concerned fans slammed the programme for not practising social distancing, as some of the cast members don’t live in the same house.
TV watchdog Ofcom has received 20 complaints since March 21, just days after Gogglebox fans flocked to Twitter to voice their opinion.
Viewers questioned whether sisters Izzi and Ellie, best pals Jenny and Lee, brothers Tremaine, Twaine and Tristan Plummer, and siblings Sophie and Pete lived together.
In a bid to clarify any concerns, Hull duo Jenny and Lee have taken to their Twitter account to explain that they are not breaking Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s lockdown rules.

A tweet posted on the pair’s joint Twitter account read: “Jenny and me are watching TV together as we are both on lockdown together. Friends with no benefits I may add! Hour of laughs stay safe stay well #StayHomeSavesLives.”
Lee then tweeted again from the joint Twitter account to thank fans for their lovely messages.
He penned: “‘Thank you for all the lovely tweets and love from you all. IT makes it all worth while isolating with Jenny, joking.
“Hope you enjoyed the show big thanks to the crew and cast. Stay safe, stay healthy and stay in.”
Besties Jenny and Lee have been on Gogglebox since series four way back in 2014, and they quickly became one of the most popular pairings on the show.
Although it was not addressed in last week’s show, other stars took to social media to clarify that they weren’t flouting the government rules.
Pete told one online critic that he and Sophie live in the same house and that’s why the siblings are sitting next to each other on the show.

Sisters Izzi and Ellie have been separated due to the lockdown rules, with Izzi being replaced by Elie’s boyfriend Nat.
The siblings seem to be the only Googlebox regulars to be badly affected by isolation as filming takes place at Ellie’s house and busy mum-of-two Izzi has has to skip filming.
A show spokesperson said, “Most of the families live together but where they don’t, they are complying with PHE social distancing guidelines. Gogglebox will only film with families where it’s safe to do so. The health and safety of our cast and crew is paramount.”
Gogglebox airs on Channel 4 tonight at 9pm
