Katie Price denies 'lavish lifestyle' in bankruptcy hearing after Maldives trip

Katie Price has apologised to a bankruptcy court and denied having a “lavish lifestyle” after her latest trip to the Maldives in a £1,400-a-night resort.

The former glamour model was declared bankrupt in November last year but a judge ordered her to appear in front of a court after an anonymous source told them about her lifestyle.

The 42-year-old appeared via Skype and said she doesn’t life a “lavish lifestyle”, saying that “90%” of her trips abroad are for business.

She said: “I appreciate I haven’t been easy to contact.

“I have been places physically and emotionally.”

Katie apologised for “not being in the right mind to understand everything that’s been going on” but is now seeing a therapist and is on the “road to recovery”.

The mum-of-five also told the court she had hired a new accountant to help keep a track on her spending.

According to The Sun, the hearing was hit by numerous technical difficulties.

Katie said that she had considered selling her iconic pink Range Rover for scrap after she was accused of “hiding” it from bailiffs.

She explained that she hadn’t declared it to them as it was “worthless and unroadworthy”.

The reality starlet once had an estimated net worth of £45million, and asked the judge today (Tuesday) to remember that she had been a “massive taxpayer”.

She added: “Sometimes in life things happen.”

Proceedings were adjourned to allow Katie to have time to look over some evidence this week.

She will either appear in person or via video link in the next hearing.

Katie won’t be discharged from the bankruptcy until next month.

After her November 2019 hearing, she was supposed to repay creditors any money she made through selling her belongings or from paid work.

Today’s court appearance comes after Katie jetted off to the Maldives with boyfriend Carl Woods, 31, who claims he paid for the holiday.

Since her original November bankruptcy hearing, she has been on five other trips, including her ill-fated stay in Turkey.

The brunette bombshell ended up breaking both of her feet after jumping from a wall at a theme park.

She has since been left in a wheelchair while she recovers, and recently had her temporary wheels wrapped in a lime green colour to match Carl’s car.

The couple look to be in it for the long haul and have discussed babies, admitting they’re “not being careful”.
