Today marks 26 years since Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain died at the tragically young age of 27, leaving behind his wife Courtney Love and baby daughter Frances Bean.
Frances was named after Frances McKee – guitarist and singer in The Vaselines – and like her dad and her namesake, she has a talent for writing melodies.
The blonde-haired beauty showed-off her skills with an original song in an Instagram video that she shared with her 1.3 million followers.
In the clip, she plays an acoustic guitar and sings her lyrics with a gentle lilt and wistful tone.
Frances, who will turn 28 in August, captioned it with: “It’s been a weird one but I’ve never felt more creatively charged or more in control of my own narrative.”

The beautiful piece was watched more than 233,000 times by delighted fans who begged to be shown more of her work.
“Breathtakingly beautiful! Love your voice!” wrote one person.
“Daddy’s girl,” said another, commenting on their likeness.
A third insisted: “Please keep playing more music this is insane!”
Frances has also worked as a model, her most recent high-profile job was being the face of Marc Jacobs’s Spring/Summer 2017 campaign.

In 2016, she modeled alongside Alice Glass, ex frontwoman of the Crystal Castles, in a photo spread for Schön! magazine.
Frances was photographed for Elle magazine in 2006 wearing her dad’s cardigan and the striped PJs he famously wore at his own wedding.
At the time she said: “I wore his pajamas because he got married in them to my mom in 1992 in Hawaii so I thought they would be cute if I wore them today.
“He was too lazy to put on a tux so he got married in pajamas!”

Frances also shares her personal artwork with fans on Instagram and once held an exhibition at the La Luz de Jesus Gallery in Los Angeles.
In February, Frances and her mum Courtney left tributes to Kurt on what would have been his 53rd birthday.
On the anniversary of his death last year, Frances said: “If you are struggling with your mental health and need someone to talk to please do not be afraid to reach out to your friends, neighbours, parents, counsellors, teachers or even strangers on the internet.
“Needing help is not a weakness. Let’s end the stigma and shame towards the struggle with mental health.”
