Corrie fans devastated as Dev leaves Aadi in car to be killed in horrific explosion

Coronation Street fans were left in disarray on Monday night, after they witnessed Dev Alahan save his injured daughter Asha from a car wreck, leaving his son Aadi behind to find his own way out.

The Alahan family were not having a great day when they headed into an unexpected car accident with Harvey Gaskell’s prison vehicle.

But as the family began to gain consciousness from the terrifying car crash, they quickly realised that they had to remove themselves from their car as soon as possible.

Although injured, Dev appeared to be able to move himself out of the car and decided to take Asha with him. However fans became concerned when they noticed Dev left his son behind, with the car eventually bursting into flames.

Taking to Twitter, shocked Corrie fans aired their disappointment and surprise.

One viewer wrote: “I’m am so angry at Dev. I know its a difficult choice but Aadi was right, if Dev had helped him get out he could have helped get Asha out and it would have taken half the time. I just hope he is okay, he’s the best thing about.”

Another fan agreed with this sentiment and penned: “Omg God Dev couldn’t you be a***d to save your son.”

A third viewer penned: “I feel like Asha and dev will just head home now. Are either of them bothered about Aadi? I prefer him over selfish Asha any day.”

“Moron Dev saving one child over the other. Obviously Asha is his favourite,” a fourth upset viewer said.

Providing more insight into the dramatic scenes that unfolded on Monday night’s show, Adam Hussain who plays Aadi told Metro that his on-screen father always preferred his twin Asha.

The actor said: “Dev stumbles out the car and says to Aadi, help yourself and I think that is the catalyst moment for him.

Dev showed his viewers which child her preferred

“He has always treated Asha better, but this is the real tipping point for him. Dev sees she is unconscious, but Aadi is still there asking him to help. The very last thing Dev says to him is help yourself. He feels like he has to take care of himself for him now on – his own dad won’t help him out of a burning car.”

But although the scenes were very unsettling to watch, some fans believe that Aadi is still alive and survived the explosion.

Hopping on Twitter to share their predictions, one fan wrote: “Bet Aadi got out but ran away but comes back in 5 years as a vengeful b*****d to Dev for saving his whinging b***h sister before him! You read it here first!!!”

Meanwhile another viewer said: “Adi probably got himself out & clear before it blew up…will never forgive his dad though for choosing to save Asha – bit of a Sophie’s Choice for Dev.”
