Gordon Ramsay will 'never give his kids a job' – even if they want cooking career

Gordon Ramsay won’t be giving any of his five children a job at one of his restaurants – telling them to learn from other chefs if they want to work in the industry.

The TV chef admits to handing out got a lot of pocket money to his offspring, but won’t offer to employ any of them.

Gordon owns a realm of global restaurants but has expressly forbidden his children from asking him for a lift up, including youngest daughter Tilly, 19, who is currently on Strictly Come Dancing.

Speaking on US radio, Gordon admitted: “I’m firm, I’m fair and I will give you everything I’ve got to get you to the very top.

“And that’s it, no bulls**t. I take a lot of flak for being straight and honest, but I’m not worried about that f***ing snowflake generation.”

He added: “It’s like not employing the kids. I don’t want the staff thinking, ‘F**k it’s Ramsay’s kid, we can’t tell them off.

“You want to work in this business? You f**k off to another chef, learn something different and come back with something new to improve the business.”

In a previous interview, Gordon revealed he was giving his youngest kids £50 pocket money a week, while older daughter Meg was given double while studying at uni.

He said: “Meg’s at university and has a budget of £100 a week; the others get about £50 a week and they have to pay for their own phones and their bus fare.

“The earlier you give them that responsibility to save for their own trainers and jeans, the better.”

Notoriously angry chef Gordon grew up on a council estate in Glasgow and had a totally different upbringing to his wealthy children.

He added: “They have a completely different life than I did growing up. I worked my arse off to get out of the sh** mess that I grew up in and they’re grateful, they’re not spoilt.”

Gordon has also made sure all his children know how to cook but not for a career path.

He added: “They all cook as a life skill as opposed to a career. I never want to put that on us on them. I don’t want them with a badge, going into a kitchen with people thinking that’s Ramsay’s daughter or that’s Ramsay’s son.”
