Katie Price left Celebrity Masterchef fans red-faced when she bragged about how good her ‘sticky dumplings’ were.
I’m a Celebrity winner Katie, 43, was competing on Tuesday night’s episode of the BBC cooking show alongside Joe Swash, Dion Dublin, and Melissa Johns.
Mum-of-six Katie got off to an impressive start on the show, having correctly identified the four fruits in front of judges Gregg Wallace and John Torode during the first challenge.
She managed to whip up a delicious-looking brunch of sweetcorn fritters, smashed avocado and poached egg.
However, when it got to the second round, the episode turned rather steamy as Katie was forced to make a saucy-sounding announcement about her ‘sticky dumplings’.
Katie was tasked with making a French and Asian fusion dish which involved her making dumplings for expert chef Sabrina Gidda, who is the executive chef at the all-female cuisine club, Allbright.
As tensions rose in the kitchen with the four celebs facing off against each other, Katie was faced with a bump in the road – her dumplings were sticking together.
A startled Katie cried out: “My dumplings are sticking together because they don’t wanna leave each other because they’re so good!”
Seeing the funny side of the saucy-sounding comment, she then grinned and quipped: “I wish!”
Viewers went wild at the moment on social media, with many taking to Twitter to laugh at the hilarious moment.
One fan commented: “My dumplings are sticking together” as they attaches a set of cry-laughing face emojis.
A second wrote: “They gave Katie this dish on purpose didn’t they so they could keep referencing her dumplings.”
A third added: “Katie gonna be bragging about her dumplings”.
Katie managed to impress Gregg, John and Sabrina with her fusion dish, with Sabrina saying that she should be “so proud” of the effort as it is “really excellent”.
A chuffed Katie replied: “Oh I’m happy, thank you, yes!”
She then said: “They’re not judging me as a person, they’re judging me on my cooking and that’s really nice to get that praise but I never know how to take it.
“I’m like ‘Oh thanks!’, because I’m not used to hearing it. Maybe cooking is my next thing.”
Katie went on to serve up her favourite takeaway for a Friday night – chicken korma with pilau rice – and she made it through to the next round of the show with rave reviews from the panel.
Sadly for soap star Melissa, though, she was sent packing after failing to impress the judges with her chicken curry.
Gregg had described her chicken curry as “overcooked” and her rice as “gluggy”.
Celebrity Masterchef airs at 9pm Monday, Tuesday and Friday on BBC One.
