Reality star Amy Childs has teased her return to ITV’s The Only Way Is Essex promising fans an array of drama in the new series.
Talking exclusively to Daily Star, the 31-year-old expressed her excitement to be back on screens alongside castmates and her family.
She also spoke openly about the reason she felt it was time to come back to the show following her departure.
Sharing her thoughts about appearing in the new series, she said: “It’s people’s guilty pleasure, literally was only in it a couple of series because, with me, I want to have my own business, I want to have my own salon, I want to have my own clothing line.
“I wanted to put all of my work into that and that’s what I did.
“And all of sudden they said ‘oh do you want to come back to TOWIE and I was like it’s not ever the right time to go back and then all of a sudden I think it was like two years ago I filmed Celebs Go Dating and then I got asked to then go back on TOWIE.”
The star said it was the right time to return now she has a family.
She continued: “I thought you know what this is the right time because I’ve got Polly, I’ve got Ritchie and I feel like me and Polly can go on the show together and we’ll be filming in five weeks’ time in the Dominican Republic.
“I get to see all the girls again and have a good catch-up.”
Discussing whether there will be any drama in store, Amy said: “Listen, we always got drama in TOWIE, don’t you worry.”
“The thing about it, when we start filming that’s when I get the goss, I don’t get the goss now but when I start filming that’s when I get a little bit of what’s going on and everything.
“But with me, I don’t always get involved in the goss, obviously I hear the goss but I’m very much like prod along with me and Polly and mum comes on now and I just have a laugh.”
As well as discussing her return to reality TV, Amy also spoke openly about her meeting with Prime Minister Boris Johnson to discuss making medical cannabis available on the NHS.
Working as the Creative Director for Jorja Botanicals, Amy discussed why she decided to get involved and help Robin Emerson and his six-year-old daughter Jorja.
Jorja suffers from a rare form of epilepsy and after suffering from almost 30 seizures a day, her family were told by medical staff that there was nothing they could do to save her life.
However, determined not to give up on his child, dad Robin forked out thousands of pounds to provide his daughter with the medically prescribed cannabis.
Amy said: “Reading [Robin’s] story, I just thought you know what I’ve got to be a part of this.
“Then I met Robin quickly after and I thought I want to be involved in the whole Jorja foundation and then to cut a long story short we sat together and thought you know what, so many people that have talked great stuff about CBD.”
Due to the fact that medical cannabis costs thousands of pounds, Amy will be discussing the legalisation of the substance with PM Boris on May 25th.
Sharing insight into her upcoming meeting, Amy expressed that she is “nervous” but also excited to be able to do something meaningful.
