At the time, his cause of death was not released as he had already been in hospital for an unknown medical issue.
UK Probate papers show the musician who was once named the best-dressed man left an eye-watering £29.6 million to his nearest and dearest.
The mass of his net worth will go to his wife, Shirley, 83, who he married in 1964.
Upon the death of Shirley, his fortune will be passed onto their daughter Seraphina, his sister Linda Rootes as well as his sisters-in-law, Jackie Fenwick and Jill Minder, as well as his brother-in-law Stephen Shepherd.
However, he also had a lavish estate in France, thought to be worth millions more.
Aside from this, Charlie also had a collection of cars, none of which he ever drove but his will stated that his motors should be handed to people as per his wishes.
The instructions of who is cars were being given to will never be made public.
Speaking about his impressive car collection, he told NME in 2018: “I can’t drive, so I just sit in them and listen brrrrrrr. I suppose you could call it a rich man’s indulgence.”
Its believed that Charlie’s love of cars saw him even by matching suits to reflect the era of each motor.
Reports suggest that Charlie’s lavish collection was made up of a Lamborghini, a Bugatti and even a Citroen 2CV which is said to be identical to the one featured in the James Bond film For Your Eyes Only, released in 1981.
Today on the anniversary of his death, Mick Jagger paid tribute to his friend and bandmate with an emotional video montage of pictures of Charlie alongside the song, Till The Next Time Goodbye.
