The One Show pulled off air as it's replaced in major BBC schedule shift

The One Show was nowhere to be seen on Tuesday evening (November 22) as the BBC was forced to make room for a World Cup football game.

The beloved BBC One chat show normally airs every weeknight at 7pm until 7.30pm with hosts like Alex Jones, Roman Kemp and Ronan Keating at the helm.

BBC viewers are used to seeing the likes of Alex and Roman appear on the red sofa, talk about the latest headlines and chat to A-List guests about their upcoming projects.

However, fans hoping to get their latest fix of One Show antics were to be met with disappointment if they’d tuned in to watch the programme on Tuesday evening.

That’s because it had to be axed from the schedule on Tuesday as France and Australia were playing eachother in the group stages of the World Cup.

It’s clear the global football tournament had to take priority for a night, so The One Show was tempoerarily replaced, but luckily the show was set to return at its normal time on Wednesday.

The One Show was not the only BBC programme to be affected due to the World Cup action as other shows have been pushed back or off air in favour of the football.

Some programmes like Strictly and ITV’s I’m A Celebrity… will be pushed back to a later time or date, while others simply won’t air at all.

Strictly Come Dancing is set to move from its usual airtime of Saturday to Friday (December 2) so that the World Cup can be aired during the semi finals.

ITV have also had to shift their schedule to accommodate the World Cup, with game shows like The Chase and Tipping Point not running on dates that a game is scheduled.

I’m A Celeb fans were fuming after jungle reality show was pushed back to 9.15pm on Monday and delayed by a further five minutes.
