Vernon Kay and Josie Gibson were installed as main presenters on This Morning over four consecutive days this week while Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby enjoyed an Easter break.
There was much hilarity during their presenting stint including Josie admitting she has tried dog chocolate and Vernon saying a dress in a fashion segment looked like wolf in Little Red Riding Hood would wear.
But on Good Friday they were replaced by Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary.
The ex Family Fortunes host and I’m A Celebrity finalist took to Instagram after his final appearance on the show to tell how he’d “loved” his presenting stint.
He said: ” Well! What an amazing week on This Morning.
“Thanks to@josiegibson85 for being, you! A joy to be hosting with a natural host! And all the team behind the show! It’s obvious why This Morning wins all the day time awards! Hard work pays off!! Loved the opportunity.”

But despite Vernon’s glee over his appearance viewers were left dismayed that he and Josie did not present the show for a full week.
One wrote in the comment section: “I think you guys should be hosting more often. You make a great and very natural team.”
Another commented: “Wish you were on it every week, much better than Alison and Dermot.”
A third added: “You and Josie need to do it all the time , both so natural.”

Vernon and Josie’s presenting stint included some outrageously cheeky moments.
In one segment Josie Gibson asked her co-host: “Do you trim your rose bushes?”
Poor Vernon was left red-faced and speechless by her saucy-sounding question.
Speaking about the floral feature, Vernon said: “That’s the beauty of this show, when we get all the chefs in they make cooking look easy, and David’s just done that with roses and he made that look easy.”
He added: “If you’re someone like me, it’s blimmin hard!”

She then quipped: “You’ve got a gardener…” which prompted laughs from the studio.
After a long silence, Vernon nodded and said: “Yeah. Yeah, it’s lovely and trim, Josie. Lovely and trim.”
Josie couldn’t help giggling and Vernon later told Josie she ‘cracked him up’.
