Coronation Street legend Alison King has entertained the nation as Underworld boss Carla Connor for 17 years.
The 49-year-old actress has become a fan favourite amongst viewers of the long-running ITV soap.
However, some may not know that Alison started her career on the cobbles as a completely different character.

Long before playing Carla, she caused a stir between the sheets with hunky Jason Grimshaw (Ryan Thomas).
Alison was cast as Mrs Fanshaw for one episode back in 2004.
She spiced up Weatherfield in a red silk dressing gown after calling builder Charlie Stubbs (Bill Ward) for help.
He brought Jason along to help bleed her radiators but Mrs Fanshaw had something else on her mind after spotting Jason.
She couldn’t wait for Charlie to scaper so she could have her wicked way with her toyboy.
After flirting outrageous, the pair ended up in bed together.
Bosses loved Alison’s vibe so much she was invited back two years later to play Carla and the rest is history.
Over in Coronation Street, Carla is currently being drugged by evil Stephen Reid (Todd Boyce).
Fans are aware that the villain is trying to bump off Carla to get his hands on her knicker factory business.
In upcoming scenes, Carla tells partner Peter Barlow (Chris Gascoyne) she was convinced she had a meeting with Dick Havisham.
At the factory, Stephen hands Carla a mug of tea laced with LSD and convinces her that she cancelled the meeting with Dick Havisham.
When Dick Havisham calls wondering where she’s got to, Carla heads off to meet him, clearly flustered.
Elsewhere, Peter offers Paul Foreman (Peter Ash) a spin on his new motorbike.
Carla calls at the garage to collect her car, but Abi Webster (Sally Carman) refuses to hand over her keys.
Carla spots the Underworld van and starts the engine and careers down the street, crashing into Paul astride Peter’s bike leaving Paul wincing in pain.
Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday on ITV at 8pm
