GB News presenter Eamonn Holmes has revealed the disappointing news that Channel 5 bosses have canned the luxury travel series he starred in alongside his Loose Women wife, Ruth Langsford.
The TV duo, who previously co-presented ITV’s This Morning together have fallen foul of the coronavirus pandemic and the cost-of-living crisis, according to Eamonn, 63.
Eamonn And Ruth: How The Other Half Lives debuted in 2015 and ran for five series, attracting regular audiences of more than one million viewers.

There will be no follow-up to 2019’s most recent episodes, however, much to Eamonn’s frustration.
He told the Sun: “Sadly, the series fell victim to the pandemic – it was just impossible to get across the world to meet very rich people – and there are no plans to revive the series now.
“But I do feel privileged to have been a part of it and to have met people in parts of the world that are no longer accessible.
“We got to spend time with some extraordinary people, including a billionaire and his wife in Ukraine and some of the richest people in Moscow.”
Discussing the programme during its early days eight years ago, Ruth, also 63, said: “We always thought we were doing alright then you see this wealth beyond your wildest dreams.
“I set out to do this show thinking I wouldn’t like the people very much, thinking they’re going to be arrogant, and they really weren’t. A lot of them are self-made people.”
And Eamonn added at the time: “The fascination is how they made their money, how they spend it, and why when they get the money they don’t just stop working.”
Exploring how the elite live in exotic mansions and luxury yachts, the pair took in numerous locations including Las Vegas, New York, Dubai and Monte Carlo during filming.

Yesterday (August 9), meanwhile, Ruth opened up on “stalking” Eamonn before they met.
She admitted to Loose Women she had always had a crush on her future spouse, and used to get distracted when he presented the BBC’s Open Air.
And when a feed of his show was aired in the gallery she worked in, Ruth and her colleagues would dub it the “dirty feed”.
Ruth added that she couldn’t help but be transfixed by his charisma during a discussion on whether people could have only one love of their life.
