Lizzie McGuire’s dad Robert Carradine unrecognisable nearly 20 years after show’s finale

Lizzie McGuire star Robert Carradine, 69, looks fully unrecognisable nearly 20 years after the show’s finale.

The Disney actor, who portrayed Lizzie’s McGuire dad, Sam, on the teen TV show for more than four years, recently reunited with some of his former co-stars for a new video.

Actor Jake Thomas, who played Lizzie’s brother Matt on the show, kickstarted a podcast called Living Lizzie: A Very McGuire Podcast with fellow co-star Davida Williams, who played Lizzie’s arch-enemy, Claire Miller.

For each episode the actors go on a deep dive into each episode of the infamous show, which starred teen star Hilary Duff as they bring on a variety of guests to discuss the show’s iconic moments.

Robert appeared on Friday’s episode of the show, where he looked worlds apart from his days playing Lizzie McGuire’s dad.

For his podcast appearance, Robert rocked a full head of grey hair and aged gracefully as he still rocked his classic glasses.

Kickstarting the conversation, Jake greeted Robert as they reflected on how long it had been since reuniting.

“How’s it going? It’s been a while,” Jake said, as Robert replied: “Good,” You’re looking 20 years older.”

“Ah,” Jake groaned. “Don’t remind me.”

“Ok,” Robert laughed.

“I am too, right?” he asked. “I mean yeah.”

“To me, you’ve always just been the adult,” Jake said.

Shortly after the episode aired and devoted Lizzie McGuire fans took to social media where they shared their reaction on how different Robert looks.

One fan penned on Twitter: “I couldn’t even recognise him, but he still looks very handsome.”

A second tweeted: “It’s so lovely seeing them reunite like this. This was my favourite show as a teenager.”

It was only in 2019 when the iconic McGuire family, made up of Robert, Jake, Lizzie and Hallie Todd – who played Lizzie’s mum, Jo McGuire – all reunited.

Lizzie posted a photo of them standing together, with the caption: “We are standing in what will soon be the Mcguire living room. What’s up Fam. We doing this.”

However, sadly Disney+ cancelled the reboot after some time, and there is no news on if it is being picked back up.
