Mark went to bed wearing underwear, but when he woke up he was starkers, leaving him worried a randy spirit had got into bed with him to “have a little play”.
Mark said: “Do you think it would be classed as cheating… having a little slap and tickle with a ghost? I didn’t see one… unless I slept through it.”
He was staying at the Northumberland castle to film his BBC show A Wright Family Holiday, which continues on Thursday at 8.05pm on BBC One.
The star has believed in ghosts for years so he was terrified of being targeted.
During filming, he said: “It’s a beautiful place, but I’m scared of ghosts. I’d prefer not to meet them.”
It’s not the first time Mark has had an encounter with a ghost, with the TV star previously admitting he believed ghosts could be roaming his home with Michelle.
Mark confessed he started thinking the pair were being haunted after they watched a lot of horror films.
He previously told Woman’s Own: “I’m the man of the house so if something happens she just goes to sleep and I’m the one lying thinking, ‘Is that the ghost from that film in this room?'”
But despite his fears, Mark definitely has an interest in ghosts, with the TV star appearing on an episode of ITV2’s Ghosthunting in 2011.
He was joined by his TOWIE co-stars at the time and visited areas in the 19th century Coalhouse Fort including the gatehouse, underground tunnels, mess hall and aviation museum.
