Artificial intelligence correctly predicted some of Glastonbury’s 2024 headliners – but it didn’t get everything right.
Last year Daily Star quizzed one of the world’s most popular artificially intelligent “creative” tool Bard AI to see who could be performing at the festival at Worthy Farm, Somerset, which opened its gates this week. It came up with the names of two of the headliners – Coldplay and Dua Lipa.
Asked who would be on stage this year, the system responded: “There are a number of acts who are rumoured to be performing.” It then listed the line-up, which included Chris Martin and co.

Calling the Fix You singers “one of the most popular bands in the world”, Bard AI explained: ”They have headlined Glastonbury four times in the past and are said to be in advanced talks to headline the festival again in 2024.”
The AI tool also correctly picked Dua Lipa, saying the Dance The Night beauty would be a “major draw” for Glastonbury. “She has never performed at the festival before, but she is said to be eager to do so,” it said.
However, there were also a few blunders, with the system suggesting that Queen of Pop Madonna and Rihanna also looked set to be on the bill. Lady Gaga was another big act who came up.
Bard AI listed the Spice Girls as potential performers too, but fans were disappointed when it didn’t turn out to be the case. The tool also said The 1975 could be on the Pyramid Stage.
The system explained its choices, stating: “Some of them, such as Coldplay, have a long history with the festival, having headlined multiple times in the past. Others, such as The 1975 and Dua Lipa, are currently two of the most popular acts in the world, and would be a major draw for festivalgoers.”
Dua Lipa will be on the Pyramid Stage on Friday (June 28) and Coldplay’s set will be on Saturday. SZA will take to the stage on Sunday night.
