One Celebs Go Dating expert was convinced Helen Flanagan was “acting” on the E4 dating show.
Earlier this month, the former Coronation Street belle shocked the nation when she admitted she has a boyfriend despite appearing of the famous dating programme. The stars on the show recruit the help of relationship experts Anna Williamson, Paul C Brunson and Dr Tara to help them find love while living in the public eye.
But things took an unexpected turn when the mum-of-three, 34 revealed she’s been playing away from the show with a new man. The lucky fella is retired footballer Robbie Talbot, 44, who played for a series of non-league teams including Burton Albion, Morecambe and Burscough.

It’s fair to say the agents were not impressed with her explosive revelation, which left fans reeling online. Now, Anna has revealed what it was like when she heard the shocking news.
Speaking exclusively to Daily Star, she confessed: “I was so shocked in that moment that I actually didn’t know what to say. Because as a coach, you give your all to your client as much as you expect them to give it all to you, that’s how it works.
“And in that moment, I genuinely had so many different tabs open in my head, thinking, ‘Hang on a minute, what’s going on? Is Helen acting now? Was she acting then? What is this? What is the real story here?’
“And I think in that moment, I just had to pause and gather my thoughts quietly”. The romance guru added that she almost booted the blonde bombshell from the show completely.
She told us: “I had to make that decision with the other agents to bring her in the next day to have that conversation with her. Paul was visibly annoyed, because Paul and I have each other’s back.
“I think there was also an annoyance on behalf of me, knowing how much energy I had put into Helen. And I think there was an element from his own perspective as well, you know, because no one likes a time waster.”
Ultimately, the team decided to welcome back the soap star and her new footie boyfriend – and they were certainly in for a grilling. Sharing her thoughts on the reality star’s new fella, Anna continued: “We were always hopeful that Robbie would be a good guy.
“And being Helen’s champion, we wanted to do our due diligence with him and we weren’t going to pack any punches. So let’s just say Robbie, I don’t know if he knew quite what he was getting himself into, but we applauded him for taking to the process even in this late stage despite being a non-celebrity.
“I think the viewers and fans of Helen will be very, very pleased with how things are going,” she teased. And the team certainly didn’t hold back, after the pair opened up about their sex life on the show.
During the latest instalment, the soap siren admitted that she “sticks to what she knows in the bedroom”. She admitted: “You’re [Robbie] probably more adventurous than me, where I like to do more of the same.”
Fans will have to stay tuned to see how their blossoming relationship pans out of the dating show. Celebs Go Dating airs from Monday to Thursday every week from 9pm on E4.
