The E4 series is back with a bang and is helping a new bunch of celebrities navigate their love lives, and Now You’re Gone star Basshunter almost made the cut.

Talking exclusively to Daily Star as he promoted Reminisce Festival, he revealed he was “in talks” with the show earlier this year. He told us: “I would love to do Celebs Go Dating, we were in talks.

“I mean, we didn’t agree on anything. It was just an idea that we threw out there. But it didn’t work with anyone’s time frame. But that would be cool.

“Next year maybe, we’ll see… I’ll need to get fresh and maybe get rid of the beer belly as well. I’m turning 40 in December, so will be hitting the big four-oh.

“I feel good, I feel really good. I’ve kind of been waiting for the middle-life crisis but it hasn’t really come up. And my friends were like, ah, when you do your beard and your hair, you still look like you’re 35.”

When asked further about his love life, he revealed he had “tried and failed” as he brought up his marriage to his ex-wife, Mahkia Khayatzadeh, who he was married to between 2017 and 2018.

The singer explained: “I have tried and I failed. I was married, I’ve had girlfriends… But when you travel so much, you have to find the most understanding and most non-jealous woman on the planet.

“Otherwise, you might as well just throw away the keys pretty much. But I’m not really looking right now. I just want to continue with my career. I love my life the way it is, to be honest.

“I’m not saying that I’m going out clubbing and partying anymore. I mean, hey, 10 years ago, you should have seen me, I was a nightmare.

“But now, when I tell my friends, they’re like, ‘Hey, do you want to come to that after-party?’ And I’m like, ‘No, I want to go back to the hotel and sleep.’ They say ‘Who are you, man? I don’t recognise you anymore!'”
