EastEnders airs heartbreaking Denise exit as fans ‘expose’ who reported her to hospital

EastEnders’ aired a heartbreaking exit for Denise Fox – but fans have ‘worked out’ who got her sent to hospital amid her mental health battle.

Denise’s mental health has spiralled since the murder of Keanu Taylor at Christmas. Fans will recall how she and the rest of The Six, Linda Carter, Suki Panesar, Stacey Slater, Kathy Beale and Sharon Watts covered up the murder by burying his body under the cafe.

Since then, soap alum Denise has struggled and has even started to hallucinate Keanu. She’s also became convinced that the devil is out to get her for what she did at Christmastime.

Things got worse in Wednesday’s episode (February 21) when Denise fled Albert Square in a bid to escape. Thankfully, in Thursday’s episode (February 22) Jack Branning found her in the woods wandering alone.

Denise has been suffering with her mental health

Denise was brought home by Jack after feeling to the woods amid her breakdown. Stacey and Denise’s daughter Chelsea told Jack that they needed to call the mental health team – to help Denise.

But Jack wasn’t having it and insisted she just needed to rest for the night. However, later on, there was a knock at the door which was revealed to be three people from the local mental health team.

Denise was sent to hospital after a visit from the mental health team

Jack was confused as he didn’t ring them and after carrying out their initial assessment, the team decided to section Denise saying she showed signs of psychosis. Chelsea persuaded Denise to go to hospital, but she shut down Jack when he asked to go with her.

Watching his wife get escorted into the van, Jack broke down in tears. The rest of the square also watched on during the emotional scenes.

Fans reckon they know who made the call

Now, fans reckon they know who called the mental health team and doctors. On X, formerly known as Twitter, one person said: “So I wonder who called the mental health team on Denise?”

Someone replied: “Stacey!” A third added: “I think Stacey called the MH professionals.” Another mused: “I bet it was Stacey who called them.”
