Good Morning Britain fans were left totally outraged as they called for ITV producers to do something about Richard Madeley after he showed a lack of empathy towards a mother whose daughter had died.
A number of online users requested for chiefs to step in and issue the presenter with a “ban” after he appeared to fail to show any degree of sympathy towards Erin Gibson – whose daughter had died after a surgical procedure had gone wrong in Turkey – with the mum-of-five appearing on the programme to tell her story.
Ms Gibson revealed that her daughter had been “bullied” about her weight and had became desperate to change her appearance, so she turned to a £2,5000 all-inclusive package deal “all natural” gastric sleeve operation which led to her tragic death.

As the interview got underway, Richard asked Ms Gibson: “Are you alright?” Ms Gibson told him she wasn’t, with the host telling her “I can imagine, you wanted us to show it so obviously we did,” as fans turned to their keyboards in disgust.
One person fumed: “Richard Madeley should be nowhere near interviews that require sympathy or empathy.” A second agreed: “This lady’s daughter recently died, Richard’s first question…. ‘are you alright?’ wtf lol He’s a d**k.” A third wrote: “Christ Richard show some empathy ‘are you alright?’ ‘well no’ ‘ok well you wanted us to show the video’.”
Others were just more grateful that his co-star was on-hand to intervene, with a fourth comment reading: “Thank god Susanna Reid has the ability to show empathy.”
Ms Gibson appeared on the breakfast programme because she wanted to raise awareness, following her daughter Morgan Ribeiro, 20 had became desperate to lose weight after facing bullies online.
The 20-year-old childcare worker died just a week after her gastric sleeve operation. Morgan was given the thumbs up in Turkey that she would be ok to fly home just two and a half days after surgery on January 6.

It is understood that Morgan had told medics she had been feeling unwell but was reassured she was fit to fly. But on her way back to Gatwick via a WizzAir flight on January 9, the plane had to divert to Serbia where she received urgent medical care.
Four days later, Morgan died from organ failure in Belgrade on January 13 – with a Serbian surgeon confirming to Ms Gibson her daughter’s small intestine had been cut during surgery which led to an infection and sepsis.
However, Dr Serkan Bayil the surgeon who carried out the procedure in Turkey has denied any wrongdoing and claims Morgan died after suffering an embolism. A common risk factor in any surgery that Ms Gibson’s daughter would have been aware of.
Ms Gibson has now started Morgan’s Law campaign in hope of putting an end to marketing of cheap cosmetic surgeries packages in Turkey. Particularly those aimed at young and vulnerable people.
