Home and Away fans have become completely divided following the breakdown of Tane Parata and Felicity Newman’s marriage.
It has been a turbulent few years for the couple. On their first wedding day, Felicity (Jacqui Purvis) ended up in a car accident which led to her calling off their engagement.
After reuniting and tying the knot last year, Felicity was drugged, sexually assaulted and later blackmailed by her attacker. With the help of Tane (Ethan Browne), she made it through the terrifying ordeal and the couple finally settled into happy life.

Last year, Tane visited his family in New Zealand, including his younger cousins. After spending time with them, Tane returned with hopes of starting a family with Felicity.

Despite not being sure on the idea at first, Felicity agreed to try for a baby with Tane, knowing how much it meant to him. But it was later revealed that Felicity wasn’t ready at all as she continued taking birth control pills.
Earlier in the week, Mackenzie (Emily Weir) discovered the pills at Salt and urged Felicity to come clean to her husband. During Friday’s episode (January 19) of the Channel 5 soap, Tane emptied Felicity’s bag and found the pills she claimed to be no longer taking.

Enraged, Tane packed a bag and left their home as Felicity begged for Tane to forgive her. Viewers have been left divided on who’s side their on following the dramatic scenes. Some have placed the blame firmly on Felicity as one person said: “Tane may have been selfish in wanting a baby but Flick shouldn’t have lied. This one’s on her.”
A second added: “Flick can’t stop lying to Tane. Even when he knew something was up she lied. Now she’ll blame everyone but herself.” Another agreed: “What she’s done this time is just vile. I know he’s far from perfect but I am with him about it being unforgivable,” another stated.” But others have blasted Tane for pressuring Felicity into having a baby.

Your wife was in an accident that nearly killed her, a sexual assault and blackmail from the attacker and told you she never wanted children and asked you if she was enough for you,” one angry fan weighed in. “All you have been doing is pushing poor Flick until you got her to say yes. My husband and I both side with Flick. Poor love. She’s been through a lot.”
“Tane shouldn’t have married Flick if he wanted kids. She said from the start she didn’t want kids,” a second pointed out. Another viewer declared: “If a woman says not yet then that should be respected at all times, it is her body. If it is forced on you, you will grow to resent the child you are carrying and also the one who insisted.”
