“So channels like ITV are having to compete for advertising money. It means there is less money from adverts.
“We are still coming off the tail end of a pandemic that shut down the economy for two years. There is less money.
“It’s like this all over the world. Every aspect of the media is feeling the pinch right now.” Anne, who is nicknamed The Governess on the show, hosted by Bradley Walsh, left, is hoping The Chase won’t be cancelled.
She added: “Things are so tough that quite a few shows are being axed.
“Obviously, one is always a little bit worried and one is always glad to hear there will be more episodes.
“I don’t want to imagine life without The Chase. But we are doing better than most shows. It does the business in the ratings. So many people watch it.”
The Chase was among the shows to bag a gong at the National Reality TV Awards last week.
