Currently, Katie is gearing up to release her most raw autobiography yet, which promises to portray her in an entirely new light. She plans to share intimate details from her medical records with her fans in this upcoming publication.
However, one particular admission is bound to leave readers shocked and full of emotions.
The vivacious TV personality recounts how she became pregnant at just 16 years old. Her partner at the time was a 25 year old man who had recently been released from prison, reports the Mirror.
Despite initially feeling on top of the world, Katie’s life took a sudden, heartbreaking turn.
“He kicked me in the belly when I was pregnant and I lost the baby,” she reveals in her book. Further speaking on the harrowing incident to MailOnline, she added: “People don’t realise what I’ve been through.”
The star has previously spoken out about being sexually assaulted in a local park when she was just seven years old. In her book, she describes the man as having a “bald head with wisps of ginger hair.”
At the tender age of 13, she discovered a passion for modelling and began posing for a jeans company in her hometown of Brighton.
However, Katie experienced further heartbreak as the model was frequently “made” to pose in “suspenders and all sorts of adult stuff, making me stick my tongue out, too,” she penned.
In a previous discussion about the incident with the photographer who was later imprisoned, Katie confessed to Annie Macmanus that she thought the photoshoots were “innocent” at the time.
“He’d make me do pictures where I’d be sticking my tongue out, which looks like young and girly but to him, he’d look at it as sexual,” she shared with the broadcaster.
During an appearance on Elizabeth Day’s ‘How To Fail’ podcast, Katie alleged that the photographer requested her to pose “naked in a white wet shirt,” which she initially refused, but eventually went ahead with.
In recent times, Katie became an inpatient at The Priory following a breakdown, which she attributes to her past.
She was later diagnosed with ADHD, which “made her understand more”, after reflecting on her old school reports. Prior to the release of This Is Me, Katie issued a trigger warning to fans who might “get PTSD” from reading the book.
While some may fear revisiting the past, Katie explained that writing her most candid memoir was therapeutic as it helped her process some of the heart-breaking situations she has faced over the years.
The book is due to be released on July 18.
