Pete Wicks is ‘sh***ing it’ ahead of Strictly Come Dancing but won’t quit habit

Reality telly star Pete Wicks has confessed he won’t quit the fags while appearing on Strictly Come Dancing.

The hit series is known for its demanding training and high energy dance routines. But former TOWIE favourite Pete, 36, said he won’t be sacrificing the ciggies to help stay healthier for the show.

He said: “Sorry, what do you mean, no fag breaks? You can’t, we can’t do that. We’re good, don’t worry. We’re OK. Get an oxygen mask, we’ll be fine.”

Pete also told his best pal Sam Thompson on their Staying Relevant podcast that he’s never been a fan of Strictly.

He said: “It’s the last thing I think anyone would ever think that I would do. I’ve never thought about doing it. I’ve never really watched Strictly.”

He said he “instantly regretted” telling the costume department he would go “in for a penny, in for a pound” when it came to the show’s flamboyant outfits.

Pete revealed they had a budget of £500 and he told them he fancies some flares. He also admitted that he is bricking it about performing live and fears hardcore fans of the programme, which is in its 20th year, will turn on him.

Pete added: “I am f***ing petrified. For the first time in f***ing 10 years of TV, I’m s***ing it. It’s obviously such a big show that so many people are gonna watch, but they’re people that don’t know me.

“Like, the audience is so different, they’re gonna f***ing hate me.”
