Ben Shephard left This Morning viewers gobsmacked this week as he admitted his wife Annie finds it sexy when he takes the bins out.
Ben and his co-host Cat Deeley were chatting to Gyles Brandreth and Camilla Tominey about the results of a new survey when Ben dropped the startling admission. He admitted: “What I didn’t realise is the reason that Annie, my wife, insists on me putting out the bins is because it’s sexy.
“I thought she had an ulterior motive, that she just doesn’t like messing around with the bins, but apparently not. A new survey has shown that there is nothing more sexy than taking out the bins.”

Asked why she finds that particular chore sexy, Ben was quizzed if he takes the bins out “in his pants”, as he joked: “I take them out, usually, under duress.”
Camilla commented: “So it makes you more irresistible when you do that?” Ben explained: “Women rate doing the chores as even more romantic than being given gifts.”
Camilla then speculated: “I do think men do miss a trick here, because if men do more chores, then women are less tired for other activities. I don’t think men understand that at times, but actually if they want romance with their partners, they need to help out – and that includes taking out the bins.”
Ben suggested that’s simply “bribing” your partner. Gyles chimed in to say Ben is clearly feeling “a bit sore” after failing to make the list of the top 10 sexiest men in Britain – with Jeremy Clarkson topping the list. Cat joked: “Maybe he should put the bins out more!”
Fans on X – formerly Twitter – were having a hard time believing the results of the survey, however, and took to the platform to complain. One wrote: “I definitely don’t feel sexy when I take the bins out.”
Someone else penned: “There is nothing sexy about bins.” As a third social media user wrote: “I’ll put the union jack out if my other half took the bin out!”
“This Morning say putting out bins is sexy! Maybe just because it is the only time that the [survey] voters’ men actually get off the sofa,” someone else quipped.

Gyles later caused some more controversy as he argued men should always take the bins out, telling viewers: “Men should be taking out the bins. Bins are heavy…”
But Ben interrupted, arguing: “So you’re saying women aren’t strong enough? I thought you were all about being equal.” Gyles said: “My delicate little wife shouldn’t be expected to take out the bins. Also, it’s being out early in the morning before the bin people arrive – therefore it’s a thing for a bloke to do.”
