While details surrounding his death are currently unknown, the last glimpse into his life was a hospital snapshot posted on social media shortly before this tragic news.

Despite his health challenges over recent years, which he alluded to vaguely online, Danny still found positivity in tough times – his final Instagram post highlighted finding joy in hospital stays, reports the Mirror.

This past December, he shared an image featuring a Costa Coffee drink, clearly in a hospital setting evidenced by a blue privacy curtain and medical devices faintly in the backdrop.

Captioning it with the hashtag “hot chocolate,” he wrote: “The best thing [since] sliced bread.”

Today [15 April] Danny’s manager Denise Beighton delivered the gut-wrenching news of his passing: “Heartbroken to wake up to the news that you’re gone. I have no words right now, rest easy beautiful boy.”

Denise did not give any details of the cause of his death. Danny had unfortunately struggled with health issues in the years leading up to his death.

In December 2023 Danny gratefully posted that the NHS had been his saviour, admitting in a heart-on-sleeve Instagram update: “This year has been a bit of a rocky one, at one point I was told I probably wouldn’t be here today…well I am.”

He also took to social media last year noting that he hadn’t been in “the best of health recently.”

Danny made quite the impression at only 23 when he competed on The X Factor back in 2014. He reached the Judge’s Houses round and was guided by Mel B, later carving out a successful musical journey post-X Factor.

A statement given to the Mirror by Danny’s rep expressed their sorrow: “We are heartbroken to announce the sad loss of our dear friend and artist Danny Dearden, who passed away peacefully this morning after a long illness.

“Danny was one of the most talented, hardworking people we have worked with and has made a big mark on the industry amassing more than 30 Million Streams and collaborating with huge dance names such as Michael Calfan and Dario G. RIP Danny.”

Singer John McDermott paid an emotional tribute to Danny following the announcement of his death, indicating that the young artist departed “early this morning.”

Having collaborated in the past, the tenor voiced his sorrow: “It is with a heavy heart to hear of the passing of a great friend and such a talented artist Danny ‘D’ who passed away early this morning at the tender age of 34.

“My deepest condolences go out to his mum Cath and all his Family and friends at this heartbreaking time. R.I.P. Danny. We all loved you so, so much! No words right now a tragic loss to everyone and so talented too.”

A flood of tributes poured in for Danny, celebrating the success he found post his X Factor stint.
