Eagle-eyed viewers are convinced they’ve worked out the identity of the secret traitor after spotting a major clue
Sharp-eyed viewers of The Traitors reckon they’ve cracked the identity of the mystery betrayer following what appears to be a slip-up on the spin-off show, Uncloaked.
Since the latest series kicked off on New Year’s Day, BBC chiefs have tweaked the formula by introducing a ‘Secret Traitor’ alongside the usual trio of backstabbers.
However, whilst tuning into The Traitors: Uncloaked, eagle-eyed fans noticed what many believed was a major blunder by the programme’s producers.
Spotting the photographs displayed on the wall behind the presenters, one X user questioned: “Why are the 3 traitors pictured on the wall…..with Harriet?”
Another chimed in: “Spoiler: The portraits of the traitors are in the background of #traitorsuncloaked…. Plus an additional one. Harriet the secret traitor! #TheTraitorsUK #Traitors”, reports the Mirror.
A third viewer posted: “Have Uncloaked revealed the identity of the Secret Traitor already? … Imagine though, what a plot twist!? #TheTraitorsUK #TheTraitors”.
Whilst it seems unlikely the production team would make such a glaring error, desperate fans have been scrutinising every detail they can.
Host Claudia Winkleman unveiled the fresh twist to viewers on January 1, disclosing that for the first time ever, a fourth Traitor would emerge – one completely hidden from everyone, including both Traitors and audiences.
This mysterious figure, donning a scarlet cloak, would wield ultimate power by selecting a shortlist of three potential victims for the other traitors to eliminate.
Theories are running wild amongst devoted fans, with everyone desperate to discover the identity of this enigmatic new player.
Saturday night’s instalment (January 3) witnessed escalating drama amongst the treacherous group, with audiences nearly seeing the mysterious Traitor’s identity exposed.
Following Hugo’s betrayal at the hands of fellow conspirator Stephen, the Faithfuls banished their first Traitor of the season.
The surviving duo were then presented with a secret task that might reveal who the hidden Traitor is. Stephen and Rachel were tasked with identifying potential victims on the family tree of players, using red ink to mark those who could be eliminated.
If they managed to mark nine names, they would not only have the opportunity to eliminate a player that evening, but they would also get to meet the Secret Traitor.
They accomplished their mission, but nearly exposed themselves to Reece in the process. Consequently, the Secret Traitor made their way to the Traitors’ turret that night.
However, as the credits began to roll, viewers were left in suspense, having to wait until at least Wednesday 7 January to discover the identity of the Secret Traitor – if the show decides to reveal it at all.
