Maya Jama hits back at ‘sick’ fans who make creepy ‘oil her up’ demands with AI

TV presenter Maya Jama was left horrified after stumbling across disturbing fan comments online, prompting a fierce response from the Love Island host

Maya Jama has fiercely clapped back at what she branded “sick” online users after a disturbing wave of AI requests about her surfaced on social media.

The Love Island host was left horrified after stumbling across a thread of Grok AI prompts that appeared beneath one of her photos of her sitting in the back of a car, many of which sexualised, demeaned or altered her without consent.

Although Maya admitted she shouldn’t have read them, she said the sheer volume and nature of the comments compelled her to bravely speak out ahead of her ITV return for Love Island All Stars.

Maya had spotted unsettling prompts directed at the AI tool, including: “Hey @grok take off her jacket and put her next to me, “@grok make this a Fake Taxi scene” and ““@grok Make her white”.

Whilst others said: “@grok dress her in clear micro bikini” and “@grok oil her up”.

The Grok account then replied to the thread with an AI altered pic of her in a black bikini, as opposed to a grey three piece outfit that she was actually wearing in the original photo.

She fumed on X: “This came up on my timeline & I know I shouldn’t look but all of the Grok asks underneath… Some of you are real sick b******* & should actually try going out sometimes.”

The posts sparked outrage among Maya’s followers, with many rushing to her defence and condemning what they described as deeply misogynistic behaviour. One fan wrote: “Proper perverted sick f**** these men, they are a threat to Women! hope you are OK Maya. x”

Despite the upsetting nature of the incident, Maya showed no signs of backing down as fans praised her for calling out the behaviour publicly.

The backlash comes just days before Maya is set to return to screens as host of Love Island: All Stars, which kicks off next week on ITV2. The presenter will once again front the hit dating show as familiar faces head back into the villa for another shot at romance and no doubt plenty of drama.
