Wonderwall rocker Noel Gallagher declared it would be an ‘honour’ for Oasis to record the next James Bond theme song – the band are rumoured to be favourites for the running
Noel Gallagher has joked he could play a “Mancunian villain” in the next James Bond film.
He also declared it “would be an honour” for Oasis to record the next theme song for the 007 series. The reunited rockers – who went back on the road last year for their Oasis Live ‘25 Tour – were recently rumoured to be favourites to be asked to put together a title song for the next 007 film.
But Noel has admitted they haven’t heard anything from Bond bosses at Amazon MGM studios. During an appearance on Talksport, Noel was asked about the gossip and he replied: “This James Bond thing? What, Oasis? Nah.”
When asked if he would be interested in recording a Bond theme, Noel replied: “What for Oasis to do it? Absolutely. Of course.
“It would be an absolute honour, and I think those kind of things should be done by Brits not Yanks.”
However, when he was asked if Bond bosses had been in touch, Noel replied: “Nah nah nah”.
He went on to joke: “I’ll play a villain. I’ll play a Mancunian villain”.
Bond bosses are reportedly keen to get Oasis onboard to pen the theme tune for the next superspy movie.
Noel previously admitted he’s already written a number of songs that could be used as themes for a Bond movie. He told NME: “It’s a p*** take that the greatest British agent of all time has to be soundtracked by a bunch of f****** Americans. I’ve written a couple of Bond theme tunes.
“They haven’t got very Bond-esque titles, so I would have to tailor the title accordingly. The latest one that I wrote, I listened back to it thinking, ‘F****** hell man, that’d make a f****** great Bond theme’.”
