Charlie Gard’s parents appeared on This Morning today in their first interview with their new “miracle” son Ollie.
Proud parents Connie Yates and Chris Gard welcomed Ollie back in August a day after tragic Charlie would have turned four years old.
Ollie was born weighing 8lb 6oz, with his parents gushing over the “uncanny” resemblance to his big brother, who died in 2017.
Speaking about their new bundle of joy with Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield, the parents said they “feel so lucky” as Holly told then Ollie was “gorgeous”.

Holly asked the pair how they coped with the pregnancy during a global pandemic as Connie admitted it “wasn’t easy”.
She said: “Appointments were cancelled and Chris couldn’t come to some scans, it wasn’t easy.”
However, the pair said they were overjoyed to welcome Ollie into their lives.

The pair also spoke about Ollie being born just one day after Charlie was four years ago.
Connie said she got labour pains on Charlie’s birthday, but said it was nice the boys had different birthdays as they welcomed him the next day.
Despite welcoming Ollie into their lives the couple said Charlie will “always be in our hearts”.

They said they take nothing for granted now and cherish every moment.
Charlie suffered from an extremely rare genetic condition causing progressive brain damage and muscle weakness.
The tragic tot died from the condition back in July 2017.
In a statement at the time, the parents said: “Our beautiful little boy has gone, we are so proud of you Charlie.”
This Morning airs weekdays on ITV at 10am
