Reclaiming Amy has left fans heartbroken as they watched her mother explain how she felt helpless on camera.
The new Amy Winehouse documentary aired on Friday at 9pm on BBC2 and showed a closer look at her family’s perspective at her life and death.
Her parents Mitch Winehouse and Janis Winehouse wanted to share their thoughts and feelings on how they’ve been perceived by the media over the years.
The documentary shared a series of throwback snaps and clips of the late superstar who died on the 23rd July 2011 at her house in Camden.
The star passed away after a long battle with drugs, alcoholism and bulimia.
Amy fans watching the programme took to Twitter to share their thoughts and share their support.
Her mum said on the film: “As her health got worse my MS progressed.
“I couldn’t help her. I wasn’t able to physically deal with things. I was aware of my own limitation of what I couldn’t do.
“Thats what was horrible, to be watching your child disappearing and dying.
“Which is the horrible part of this whole thing.
“I could only watch, watch and wait.”
One fan said: “I want to hug her mum #ReclaimingAmy”

A third penned: “How can it be ten years that Amy Winehouse passed? Watching the film just makes you mourn her loss like it was yesterday. I just want to hug her mum so badly”
