EastEnders fans are predicting a blackmail storyline for Janine after she confessed the truth about her horror car crash to her daughter Scarlett.
Fans recently saw Janine smash Linda’s car into a tree and move her lifeless body into the driver’s seat.
She then doused her body in booze, before wiping off her fingerprints and fleeing the scene. Linda now lies in an induced coma facing potentially life-changing brain damage.
Fans were in shock after Janine’s daughter Scarlett Butcher confronted her over Linda’s crash.
The youngster worked out that her mum had something to do with Linda’s accident – forcing Janine to manipulate her into keeping quiet.
But on tonight’s episode, Scarlett managed to get Janine to confess to driving the car, before Janine begged her to keep it quiet.
Fans are now predicting Scarlett will emotionally blackmail her mum over the secret, as the two already share a rocky relationship.
“The Janine I knew wouldn’t get emotionally blackmailed by her own daughter. She’s lost her bite,” said one viewer.
A second added: “Scarlett managing to suss Janine out in a day. Wonder if she’ll blackmail her,” said one viewer.
Another added: “I’m telling you Scarlett is probably the best cop in all of Walford. Janine is petrified under her daughter’s questioning.”
Later in the episode, Mick share the news that the swelling in Linda’s brain has gone down and they were hoping to take her out of her coma the following day.
In a panic, Janine rushes home and begins to pack her bags, telling Scarlett that they must leave before Linda wakes up and reveals the truth or she will be sent to prison.
Fans are speculating on the rushed decision, saying Linda could have amnesia and she should stick around and see what condition she’s in before fleeing Walford.
“You know Janine, there is also a chance that Linda wouldn’t remember what happened before the crash too. She could at least stick around to find out.”
Elsewhere in the episode, Lewis gets angry when Kathy fires him from The Albert and threatens legal action, despite her telling him she knows about the rape.
Ben waits for Lewis at The Arches with a crowbar, but Lewis fails to show up.
Ben storms over to The Albert and demands that Kathy gives him Lewis’s address. When Kathy refuses, Ben accuses her of protecting Lewis.
Later, Lewis told Peter that Ben is the one who attacked him.
