BBC Breakfast presenter Charlie Stayt was warned to “calm down” three times in a very tense morning row.
Charlie was hosting the programme alongside his long-term co-star Naga Munchetty on Thursday (January 12) when things took a very awkward turn.
The presenters were joined by sports correspondent Mike Bushell, who was on hand to deliver the day’s sporting news. But things soon derailed when Naga took aim at her co-presenter.

Charlie was the one to kick off the conversation, telling Mike: “You never know what’s going to happen when two teams play a game.”
Chuckling, Mike agreed: “Absolutely right, in this week of shocks with the FA Cup and the League Cup!”
Charlie beamed: “Thank you Mike!” as the couch descended into giggles – but it didn’t stop there.
Mike challenged Charlie: “Can you get your game face on for the day like Nathan Jones? I mean that sums it all up…”
A snap of the Southhampton manager flashed up on screen, showing him clenching his fists with his mouth open in a cheer, as Naga quipped: “That’s Charlie every morning.”
Mike retaliated: “That’s yawning with Charlie!”
Not to be deterred, Naga pressed on: “Every morning, Charlie’s like, ‘Aaaargh Breakfast!'”
Charlie then confessed: “I’ve been told three times to calm down this morning. My enthusiasm has been watered down. Otherwise I would have been like that.”
Mike branded him an “easy target” as a forlorn Charlie did indeed look “watered down”.

The trio were quick to change the subject back to the matter at hand, and delivered the sports news while studiously ignoring Charlie’s admission.
It comes after Naga hit back at social media trolls who critique her outfits while presenting the show.
She confessed: “I get more comments than Charlie but I think also that is because men just wear suits, so there isn’t really too much to object to.
“Whereas I don’t wear suits and buy my own clothes. So inevitably people think they can comment on what I wear.”
Naga said she also gets plenty of comments about her short hair, revealing: “Actually in terms of hair, I think we are the only duo in telly where the woman has shorter hair than the man.”
