One of the BBC’s best loved presenters has been inundated with messages of support after dropping some huge baby news.
Reggie Yates announced that his family had “grown by one” as he shared a tender snap of him and a new baby. The little one was born on Monday (April 15), and could be seen gripping onto the TV star’s finger in a heartwarming photo.
The presenter, 40, uploaded two beautiful images of the baby to his social media profiles, sharing the news with his over 300k followers across his platforms. As soon as the announcement was made, his fans were thrilled as he was seen cuddling into a baby – which is believed to be the 13th member of the clan.

In one of the gorgeous snaps, the baby’s hands cling on to Reggie’s finger in a beautiful moment for the former The Voice host. A second pic showed the baby wrapped up in a blue blanket, with the baby feet poking out.
Taking to the caption, Yates penned: “And the family grows by one – again. Fully in my Uncle era after baby #13.
“Before you ask – yes, I’ll be wearing linen and sandals all summer and no, he’s not mine. Again,” he added.
Fans of the documentary maker were quick to hop into the comments section to congratulate the star on his family’s new arrival. However, some of the fans did not fully grasp his caption, as many believed Reggie had become a dad himself.
One mistakenly wrote “Congratulations daddy!”, but others simply sent their best wishes to Reggie, who is now an uncle of thirteen kids. One fan said: “Happy to promote you to daddy era, congratulations to your family.”
Whilst a second user added: “Congrats on becoming an Uncle again. Thought I’d say because everyone else doesn’t want to read the caption.”
Some of Reggie’s famous-faced pals were also among those who flooded Yates with well-wishes, as rapper and singer Wretch 32 commented: “Congrats bro.” Similarly, actress Lashana Lynch also gushed: “Congratulations!”
It is currently unknown whether Reggie has any children, as he prefers to keep his private life out of the spotlight. At the time of writing, it is believed that the presenter is currently single – but was previously engaged to model Tia Ward in 2015, before going their separate ways one year later.
Reggie shot to fame as a child when he worked in acting, before leaving the profession behind to become a radio DJ and now a presenter. Having grown up in an “inner-London council estate”, Reggie’s mum pushed him into acting by taking him to classes run by a local woman who was charging £2.50 per lesson.
