Liz Hurley has come under fire on Instagram for a sharing a tribute to her friend Roberto Cavalli.
The actress, 58, had been close with the late fashion designer who sadly passed away on April 12 this year at the age of 83. Roberto had even assisted Liz with her Indian wedding dress when she married Arun Nayar in 2007.
Wanting to pay special thanks to her friend, the actress took to her social media feed with a video that featured herself wearing many of Roberto’s creations. There were also a couple of odd snaps of the pair together too.

The supermodel captioned: “RIP @robertocavalli You were a wonderful man and will be sorely missed. Thank you for all the many memories I have of wearing your beautiful dresses – particularly the red one I wore at my Indian wedding.
After fans had watched the sweet tribute video, it appeared that some within the comments section might have gotten the wrong end of the stick with what Liz was trying to get across. One person penned: “Way to make someone’s death all about you.”
Second user wrote “A remembrance to him is nothing but pics of you. You are the most self absorbed woman ever.”
A third added: “Didn’t she try to make Shane Warnes death all about herself too?” Fortunately for Liz, she does have a very loyal fanbase who were happy to correct those who might have misinterpreted her intentions.
One commentator shot back: “I think she’s trying to pay tribute to his marvellous work which she had experienced.”
Meanwhile, it’s not the first time this year that Liz has been blasted by her own online community. Just weeks ago, The Gossip Girl star dropped the trailer for her up and coming Strictly Confidential movie.
The sneak-preview caused quite a stir over one racy scene that sees Liz engage in sexual activity with another young female. It’s not the steamy sex scene that has been rustling feathers though.
Fans can’t seem to get passed the fact that Liz’s son Damian had actually directed and cast his mum for such a spicy role. In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, the former runway model defended her son’s work and the scene.
She told the publication: “What goes on between me and the actress, which people are making a fuss about, was so integral to the story. It was important.”
Liz added: “There’s nothing gratuitous. I guess it’s just for me. I’ve just been myself, I can’t help it if people view it that way.”
