Aaron Chalmers’ ex Talia Oatway has admitted she’s “cried”, “screamed” and shut herself away after a tough week of health struggles with their little boy.
Talia and Geordie Shore star Aaron welcomed Oakley – their third child together – in 2022, but have since called time on their romance. Oakley was born with Apert Syndrome, a rare genetic disorder that causes fusion of the skull, hands, and feet bones.
Opening up in a moving post on Instagram, Talia said it had been the “worst week” but that Oakley was “the strongest child”. She also asked fans for their prayers amid the tot’s health battle.

“I’m not going to lie this week has been the worst week of my life,” she said. “To watch my son be intubated, 2 surgeries in a matter of days, fighting sepsis, drain in his back, leaking fluid from his head, fluid resuscitation, blood transfusions, I am struggling here.”
Talia – who is also mum to sons Romeo, four, and Maddox, three, and daughter Sienna from a former relationship – said that Oakley was “the strongest child”, adding: “I really hope you guys can keep him in your prayers.”
“We are waiting for the surgeon to make a plan he had another leak from the head again yesterday, which shouldn’t be happening,” she went on. “I’ve cried, I’ve screamed, I’ve shut myself away… I love you son.”
Talia had previously shared a photo showing her and Oakley as they headed off for his surgery. Posted on Instagram, it showed Talia holding her son with a pile of bags around them. “Off to Liverpool,” she wrote. “Let’s do this baby! Operation 9.
“I appreciate social media so much on times like this. I have spoken to so many Apert families who are helping me through. My son you’ve got this.”
Talia has documented Oakley’s journey for fans, and previously explained: “Apert Syndrome causes the premature fusion of sutures in the skull, causing a different head shape. Syndactyly – fusion of the bones in the hands and feet.
“Cleft of the hard palate causing difficulties with feed and speech. Choanal stenosis (narrowing of the airway) causing breathing difficulties. Apert Syndrome often causes a global developmental and learning delay.”
