Suits: LA spin-off gets first major update and teaser after filming on pilot started weeks ago

The legal drama Suits: LA has officially been given the green light for a full series by NBC, following the successful filming of a pilot episode earlier this year.

This new courtroom drama will take viewers from New York to Los Angeles, following on from the conclusion of the popular USA Network series in 2019.

Originally fronted by Patrick J. Adams and Meghan Markle, the spin-off is set to introduce a fresh cast led by Arrow and Heels star, Stephen Amell.

Amell will play Ted Black, a former federal prosecutor who initially worked in NYC before setting up his own firm on the West Coast.

The synopsis reveals, “His firm is at a crisis point and to survive he must embrace a role he held in contempt his entire career.”

Moreover, “Ted is surrounded by a stellar group of characters who test their loyalties to both Ted and each other while they can’t help but mix their personal and professional lives.”

The main cast also includes Rachelle Goulding, Victoria Justice, Troy Winbush, John Amos and Josh McDermitt.

Over the weekend, excitement was stirred with the announcement, which was accompanied by a first-ever sneak peek into the upcoming drama. A sight familiar to avid Suits fans, the still features Stephen’s character Ted looking serious in a slick black suit inside a plush office that offers a grand view of the LA skyline.

The actor shared the image on his personal Instagram, where it received an overwhelmingly positive response from his fans.

One thrilled follower expressed: “Excited to see this series,” and confessed, “I confess, I still watch Arrow on Netflix every day. My daughter makes fun of me, but I don’t care.”

Another fan was bursting with anticipation: “OMG!! I needed this so hard, the kind where I didn’t even know I needed it.”

The actor’s unforgettable role as Oliver Queen/Green Arrow in the popular CW series is still fresh in fans’ minds, with many referencing his standout performance.

“Oh my god I thought this was Oliver Queen and my heart skipped a beat,” one comic book enthusiast confessed.

While Stephen may not be donning his iconic green hood again, viewers are eagerly awaiting his next appearance on NBC, scheduled for next year.
