Kirsty Gallacher shares engagement hopes with age-gap boyfriend

Kirsty Gallacher, 49, opened up about finding love again and becoming a ‘stepmum’ after divorce and whether she plans to walk down the aisle again with her ‘perfect’ boyfriend14:08, 06 Sep 2025Updated 14:08, 06 Sep 2025(Image: Dave Benett/Getty Images for Metropolitan Gaming)Telly star Kirsty Gallacher says she has finally found her ‘safe space’ in new boyfriend Darren Clayton and “would love to be engaged” to the ex-rugby ace. The ex-Sky Sports News host, 49, has been dating Darren, 39, since 2023.And Kirsty — already mum to Oscar, 18, and Jude, 15, from her marriage to ex-husband Paul Sampson — said her blended family with dad-of-one Darren is “chaotic, but very, very happy”.She told OK! Magazine: “I know it sounds cheesy, but he’s just my safe space. He helps me with everything, he’s my sounding board and he makes me laugh a lot. I’ve never been myself with anybody more than I am with him.”I think we would love to be engaged, but married? It’s such a hard one, because we are so happy right now. Why would we change that? But do we both think it would be nice? Yes, of course – and we’re both on the same page with that.”Gold Radio presenter Kirsty — who previously said she felt “horrendously lonely” after her split from ex-hubby Paul in 2015 — met Darren through mutual pals Gabby and Kenny Logan. But as she approaches her milestone 50th birthday, she looks and feels better than ever and says she has “made her peace” with turning the big 5-0, adding: “By this point, I couldn’t give a monkey’s.”My ducks are in a row, as much as they can be, I’ve got a wonderful partner and a wonderful family. I’m healthy. I feel better than ever.”And of the age gap with Darren, she joked: “He’ll turn 40 in December, then a month later I’m turning 50, so we’ve laughed about having a 90th birthday party. No one would know we’re 10 years apart and it doesn’t bother either of us.”Kirsty, who first found fame in the late 90s as a Sky Sports presenter, before going on to front TV series including Kirsty’s Home Videos, The Games and BBC reality show Only Fools On Horses, was co-hosting GB News’ breakfast show she suffered a health scare in 2021.She was diagnosed with an acoustic neuroma, a benign tumour in her inner ear which caused “severe tinnitus” and meant she couldn’t hear properly. She plans to have radiotherapy treatment to manage the tumour later this year and added: “It makes me emotional talking about it actually. I went pretty much deaf, went to my GP and asked if it could be a brain tumour.Article continues below”It was a horrible, horrible moment, but I want to talk about it so we all feel less alone. I feel for anyone else going through that. It’s so worrying and it’s not easy navigating it day-to-day.”For the latest breaking news and stories from across the globe from the Daily Star, sign up for our newsletter by clicking here. More

Radiohead excited to play rejected James Bond song at upcoming concerts

Radiohead want to play their rejected James Bond song for Spectre in full on their European tour later this year. The band have whittled the setlist down to 70 songs and have banned brother Colin and Johnny Greenwood from choosing the songs because they are too indecisive.12:02, 06 Sep 2025Radiohead are back later in 2026(Image: Getty Images)RADIOHEAD fans will be shaken (not stirred) by the band’s James Bond song at their upcoming gigs. The Oxford art rockers play their first shows in seven years across five cities later this year, including a London O2 Arena residency. The song they’re looking forward to playing most is their rejected 007 anthem Spectre which has only ever been aired briefly in acoustic fashion before.Bassist Colin Greenwood revealed: “I’d love to play the song Spectre. We did it in America for Moon Shaped Pool, Thom (Yorke) played it on the Rhodes keyboard. But I want to play it as a full band type thing, a la Paul McCartney Live & Let Die – there’s a massive bit in the middle.”Bassist Colin Greenwood is in mood for 007(Image: Getty Images North America)This year marks the 30th anniversary of Radiohead’s celebrated second album, The Bends but they’re not planning to play the whole thing.Instead Colin spilled: “It’s going to be a mixed set, we’ve whittled it down to 70 songs and me and my brother (guitarist Johnny) are not on the setlist committee, we’re not allowed. Because we are too indecisive!”Radiohead gigs are renowned for their intricacy but it sounds like the band are winging it this time.“We are going to take what we did in the summer of ‘24 when we did that jam, and we’re not doing many rehearsals either, so it all seems quite sort of relaxed,” said Colin referring to the band’s brief hook-up last year. “We will play anything in any order at any time. We take a busking attitude to the Radiohead setlist. We are playing everything – stuff from the first record right through to now. It’s going to be the first time we’ve done shows where we haven’t got new material as work in progress, but you never know; stuff might come up or whatever.”Thom Yorke and Colin Greenwood(Image: FilmMagic)Colin described doing residencies in Madrid, Bologna, Berlin and Copenhagenas “a bit Sinatra-esque” instead of a regular tour. He also confirmed they will have two drummers on stage again as they have on previous tours: “Phil (drummer Selway) is working on it at the moment it’s great for me because I get to check in what each of them are doing, I can wander over and Phil loves it because I can stop hassling him.”Rumours last minute gigs by the band were wide of the mark confirmed Colin who say’s it’s impossible to get the venues. He told the Adam Buxton podcast: “Reality is if you want to start making plans or doi any shows for us you have to give the venues a minimum of a year to a year and a half notice , so if anyone thinks that anyone in Radiohead says they’re gonna do some touring and there are rumours about it – it’s not going to happen because you have that 18 months; post Covid everywhere is sold out. Getting your slot to play is such a long term thing there’s never going to be any last minute announcements.”Radiohead kick off the UK London shows on November 21.For the latest breaking news and stories from across the globe from the Daily Star, sign up for our newsletter by clicking here.Article continues below More

Sharon Osbourne is said to be struggling with a “heartbreaking” dilemma following the death of her husband, Black Sabbath frontman Ozzy Osbourne, who died on July 22Connor McCrory US News Producer and Carly Hacon Showbiz Reporter10:42, 06 Sep 2025Kelly, Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne(Image: AFP via Getty Images)Sharon Osbourne is wrestling with a heart-wrenching predicament following the passing of her husband, Black Sabbath’s Ozzy Osbourne, who succumbed to Parkinson’s disease on July 22.In accordance with Ozzy’s final wish, he was interred beneath a crabapple tree in the garden of their bucolic Buckinghamshire estate. In his 2009 autobiography I Am Ozzy, the singer, who performed his last gig at Villa Park, humorously quipped, “So the kids can make wine out of me and get p***** out of their heads.”He reiterated this request to Sharon multiple times, reportedly saying, “Don’t cremate me, whatever you do. I want to be put in the ground… with a tree planted over my head.”Sharon is torn over the dilemmaWhile his burial honoured this wish, it has left Sharon, aged 72, in a state of emotional turmoil, reports the Mirror US.With their three children, Aimee, Jack and Kelly, and five grandchildren all back in Los Angeles, Sharon finds herself grieving alone in the UK.A close family friend told the Daily Mail: “Sharon is heartbroken. She thought she would be caring for Ozzy longer in the UK. It’s where she saw her future. Now she’s a widow, lonely and grieving.”Their home, Welders House, had undergone extensive renovations to cater to Ozzy’s deteriorating health.Improvements included a rehabilitation wing, an exercise and art studio, enhanced security, and a spa-like wellness area. The family had planned to return to England in 2024 for a reality series titled Home to Roost, which would chronicle their transition.Ozzy’s health deteriorated rapidly, with the relocation occurring mere weeks prior to his death.Sharon is looking increasingly fragile(Image: Anadolu via Getty Images)The iconic rock legend passed away peacefully at his residence, shortly after a poignant reunion with his Black Sabbath colleagues Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward for a final show in Birmingham. His funeral service on July 30 featured a public cortege through the city streets followed by a private interment with close family and musician friends in attendance.Medical documentation lists his causes of death as cardiac arrest, myocardial infarction, coronary artery disease, and complications from Parkinson’s disease.Although Ozzy had been fighting illness following his 2019 Parkinson’s diagnosis, his passing still came as a shock.”She’s devastated,” revealed one close friend. “But she needs to be with the family who love her.”Article continues belowCompounding worries, pals say Sharon looks increasingly fragile. She had previously confessed to shedding more than three stone through using the slimming medication Ozempic.”She’s as thin as Kylie Minogue now,” confided an insider. “She really needs to eat. Grief has made that even harder.”Want all the biggest Showbiz and TV news straight to your inbox? Sign up for our free Daily Star Showbiz newsletter. More

Freddie Mercury’s ‘secret daughter’ can’t reveal her identity for devastating reason

A woman who claims to be Queen icon Freddie Mercury’s daughter, who goes by just ‘B’, has revealed why she cannot share her true identity, for a number of sad reasons10:00, 06 Sep 2025A new documentary which claims to share secrets of Freddie Mercury’s life airs on Sunday(Image: Getty Images)A bombshell new documentary about Freddie Mercury is set to air this weekend. The Queen icon’s life became a talking point again recently when a woman who claims to be his secret daughter came out of the shadows. Her story, and apparent secrets of Freddie’s life, are explored in new Channel 5 documentary Freddie Mercury: A Secret Daughter?, airing on Sunday night. In the documentary, journalist and biographer Lesley-Ann Jones speaks of meeting with the woman, who only goes by “B”. While friends of Freddie speak of their doubts that “B” is legitimate, Lesley-Ann believes she is who she says she is completely.”B” shared with her 17 journals which she claims Freddie wrote, starting after he discovered “B”‘s mother was pregnant in 1976, not long after Queen released Bohemian Rhapsody. Her mother is allegedly the wife of a good friend of Freddie’s. She says Freddie kept her a secret to protect her, as well as her family. The woman, “B”, claims to be Freddie Mercury’s secret daughter(Image: Getty)At the time, Freddie was engaged to Mary Austen, while having an affair with David Minns, who was putting pressure on him to end the engagement, the documentary claims. “B” says Freddie wrote of how he was close friends with a couple, and went to see the woman while the husband was away for “moral support”.According to “B”, her mother had recently suffered a miscarriage and found comfort in Freddie’s arms, leading to her conception.Lesley-Ann has a number of reasons to believe “B” and her story. She says “B” did not ask for any financial gain or fame from sharing her story. She also told the journalist of childhood friends of Freddie, which she says have never been revealed before.Lesley-Ann Jones says she believes ‘B’ is who she says she isBut another name appears which “B” claimed was the real name of Freddie’s father, who was previously only known as Bomi Bulsara. Lesley-Ann checked naturalisation records, which verified it was true.Lesley-Ann claims that Freddie’s parents knew of the existence of “B”, and a clause in his dad’s will appears to prove this. She says in the doc: “There is a clause that spells out which kind of grandchildren may inherit, and these are not an illegitimate child. An illegitimate may not inherit from him – why is that there?”On top of that, the writer met up with “B” and said she immediately saw the similarities between her and her would-be father.Friends of Freddie’s share their doubts, with some saying a child is not something he would have kept secret. There is also no mention of a child in his will, which is a matter of public record.”B” fears that revealing her identity would mean she would have to give up the notebooks she says Freddie gave her(Image: Getty Images)In his will, he left everything to Mary. On top of that, Queen’s back catalogue and creative output is owned by Sony Music.”B” claims it’s because of this that she cannot reveal her identity. She told the documentary makers: “A clause in Freddie’s will bequeaths Mary Austen all his possessions, including those that may be held by banks or other third parties at the date of his death.”He gave me his notebooks, but did not declare that he had done so in his will or any other official way.”She is fearful that if she revealed her identity, she would have to give up her most cherished possession of the past 34 years.”B” adds: “Mary can claim ownership of the physical notebooks, while Sony Music can claim ownership of their content.”Freddie Mercury: A Secret Daughter?, Saturday 6th September, 9:10pm. Rebekah Vardy eyes new social circle in Italy after Jamie’s Serie A move

Rebekah Vardy has moved to Italy with her family after husband Jamie signed for Serie A side Cremonese, and the WAG is said to be keen to make a ‘fresh start’02:58, 06 Sep 2025Rebekah Vardy is set for a new life in ItalyRebekah Vardy, the well-known WAG, reportedly views her family’s move to a historic Italian city as a chance to mingle with a new social set, according to insiders. The TV personality and her clan have relocated to Italy for a “fresh start”, following her husband Jamie, 38, signing a contract with Serie A team Cremonese. The move comes after Jamie’s lucrative deal with Leicester City came to an end, concluding his 13-year tenure with the Foxes, during which he clinched both the Premier League and FA Cup titles. It’s rumoured that Rebekah, 43, had been hoping for a touch more glitz and glamour with a transfer to another “really glitzy club”. However, Cremonese is a relatively unknown squad recently promoted to Italy’s premier league, believed to operate on a budget considerably smaller than Leicester City’s recent riches.Rebekah Vardy had hoped for a more glamorous transfer(Image: Getty Images)A source close to Rebekah shared: “Becky desperately wanted a glamorous big move to a really glitzy club. She had dreamed of Inter Miami, hanging out with Victoria Beckham would be like a dream for her… The Miami lifestyle – nightclubs, celebrities, parties – is way more her. Cremona, though, is all crumbling old buildings and culture.”Jamie was in high demand, with the star-studded Championship club Wrexham showing interest in the forward. This potential move could have given Rebekah the chance to rub shoulders with actress Blake Lively, whose husband Ryan Reynolds co-owns Wrexham, reports the Mirror.Birmingham City, owned by US superstar and former American footballer Tom Brady, were also reportedly keen on signing Jamie.Yet the seasoned striker accepted the Cremonese offer, and will now ply his trade in Cremona, renowned for its musical heritage as the home of Antonio Stradivari, the iconic Italian violin craftsman. It’s certainly a stark contrast to the energy and chaos of somewhere like Miami, though a switch to Inter Miami never materialised during the summer. The source went on: “Becky is used to the limelight, but nobody in Cremona will have the first idea who she is.”They revealed to the Daily Mail, which also claims both Rebekah and Jamie were desperately eager for “fresh starts” despite his achievements with Leicester City. And, thanks to this reputation plus his three-year England career, Cremonese fans have already christened their latest acquisition “the king”. Regional media outlets suggest Jamie will play a crucial role in Cremonese’s frantic fight against relegation this campaign.Article continues belowIt’s believed Rebekah should be able to blend in with the existing squad WAGs without much trouble, as most are fluent English speakers. The insider added: “Becky might have to rethink her style somewhat if she’s going to fit in with the Italian WAGs. They’re not about garish designer labels and sports gear… But most of them also speak fluent English so there’s a chance for her to mingle and make a whole new circle of friends if she can pull it off.” More
