Bankruptcy, botched boob jobs, and race rows – S Club 7 where are they now

S Club 7 dominated the charts at the turn of the century, with bangers like S Club Party, Bring It Back, and Never Had A Dream Come True.

Launching a spin-off television series, a teen band – S Club Junior – and the feature film Seeing Double, the pop group has cemented its place in the nation’s heart.

Band members Rachel Stevens, Paul Cattermole, Hannah Spearritt, Jo O’Meara, Tina Barrett, Bradley McIntosh and Jon Lee were some of the biggest names on the Brit celebrity scene back in the early noughties.

The group announced they were splitting in 2003, breaking the news to their heartbroken fans during their S Club United tour.

But where are the S Club 7 members today?

Rachel Stevens

Blonde bombshell Rachel Stevens had the most breakout success as a solo artist, with seven Top 40 singles and two solo albums.

The 41-year-old beauty tied the knot with then-boyfriend Alex Bourne in August 2009, postponing their wedding by a year due to Rachel’s busy work schedule.

The Sweet Dreams My L.A. Ex singer appeared as a judge on several reality shows, including X Factor New Zealand and Voice of Ireland.

She was also awarded the coveted title of FHM’s “sexiest woman of all time” in 2014.

Last year she performed in the West End production of Rip It Up The 70s in London, which lasted a four-month run.

Paul Cattermole

Paul Cattermole left S Club 7 fans heartbroken when he announced his plans to leave the group in 2002, leading to their eventual separation.

The 42-year-old formed nu-metal band Skua with his friends the same year, though they parted ways in 2003.

Five years after S Club’s split, Paul performed with former bandmates Bradley McIntosh and Jo O’Meara in SC3 – though he has since left the group.

Declared bankrupt in 2014, the pop star decided to put his Brit Award for Best British Breakthrough Act act up for auction on eBay four years later, explaining there were “bills to pay”.

The trophy landed a whopping £66,100, though the second Brit Award he auctioned off earned just £3,000.

Last year, First Dates Hotel viewers were stunned to see Paul walk into the restaurant in a bid to find love – unfortunately, he walked out single.

Tina Barrett

Once S Club 7 parted ways in 2003, Tina Barrett announced plans to launch a solo career – with little luck.

The 43-year-old took a nine-year hiatus from music, before releasing several solo tracks in 2012 and 2013.

Today, the brunette beauty is one-third of the S Club 7 spin-off group, SC3, performing the group’s hits across the country.

Along with bandmates Bradley McIntosh and Jo O’Meara, Tina gigs at nightclubs, uni events and Butlins holiday camps.

A self-confessed “proud mama”, the Londoner gave birth to her son Roman back in June 2016.

Earlier this year, she released a solo single titled Mwah Mwah, which has made its way onto the charts in Finland, Singapore and South Africa.

Hannah Spearritt

After the group threw in the towel in 2003, Hannah Spearritt decided to try her hand at acting.

The group already had experience on the screen, thanks to the success of their TV show Miami 7.

Hannah, 38, landed her first major Hollywood gig in the film Seed of Chucky, before eventually returning to the UK.

Since then, the blonde bombshell has starred in TV shows like EastEnders, as Kandice Taylor, and Casualty, as Mercedes Christie.

The former pop star made headlines two years ago when she opened up about a breast augmentation surgery that left her in agony.

Hannah suffered tremendous side effects after the operation and got the botched implants removed in 2016.

In December 2018, Hannah revealed she’d given birth to a baby girl named Téa Thomas-Spearritt.

Bradley McIntosh

Bradley McIntosh spent the years after S Club 7’s collapse trying to launch a solo career, before joining the boyband Upper Street.

Their single The One failed to climb the charts, and the band eventually split.

In 2008, he formed SC3 with former bandmates Jo O’Meara and Paul Cattermole, as the trio toured the UK and America.

SC3 is still going strong, and Bradley occasionally posts throwback snaps to his S Club 7 days over Insta.

The 38-year-old is a proud dad to a son, who was born in 2017.

Using the professional name City Boy Soul, Bradley has written and produced tracks for acts like JLS and Mutya Buena.

Jon was the youngest member of the hit pop group S Club 7

Jon Lee

Famous for his floppy blonde hair, Jon Lee was the youngest member of S Club 7.

Since leaving the band, the 37-year-old became a major theatre star, appearing in West End shows Les Misérables and Jersey Boys.

Jon has landed a number of TV acting roles on shows like Casualty and the cartoon series Famous 5: On the Case.

In 2010, Jon came out as gay in an interview with Gay Times, admitting he had come out to his family and friends many years previously.

He explained: “It’s never needed to be a huge change that I’ve had to tell everyone about.”

In 2018 the singer appeared on the reality show Dinner Date in a bid to find love through home-cooked food.

Jo O’Meara

Jo O’Meara was the S Club 7 member with the most impressive vocals, pegged as the most likely breakout star after their split.

Unfortunately, her controversial appearance on Celebrity Big Brother in 2007 did little to help her career.

The 40-year-old was accused of racist behaviour towards fellow housemate Shilpa Shetty, along with Danielle Lloyd and Jade Goody.

She later defended her actions, telling Davina McCall: “I’m not a racist person at all, I know I’m not.”

The singer was also accused of bullying her way into S Club by former bandmate Paul when he told NME: “That bully from Essex came along and bullied her way into the situation [laughs].”

He later cleared up his comments, insisting there was no tension between them.

Jo filed for bankruptcy in 2014, and continues to tour the country as one-third of SC3.
