Des O’Connor’s most recent photo has been shared, showing the veteran entertainer smiling and waving from his home five months ago.
O’Connor died this weekend at the age of 88, passing away “peacefully” in his sleep after suffering a fall at his Buckinghamshire home last week.
Though the presenter and singer had been thought to be recovering, he died during the night on Saturday, leaving his family heartbroken.
In his final photo, the late comedian could be seen giving a thumbs up to the camera, as his daughter Kristina paid him a socially-distanced visit at his home.
Taken in May of this year, the former Countdown presenter looked in good health as he smiled at the lens, with Kristina wearing a “Des O’Connor” T-shirt as a tribute to her dad.
Melanie Sykes, who co-hosted Today With Des and Mel for four years with O’Connor, shared the image over social media at the time.
She wrote: “Thought I’d share these brilliant pics of Des O’Connor and his daughter Kristina taken today. Lovely, wonderful Des.”
Kristina is O’Connor’s only child from his marriage to model Jay Rufer, with the former flames marrying in 1985, only to divorce five years later.
Having walked down the aisle four times in his lifetime, O’Connor was a proud father to five children – one son and four daughters.
After splitting from Rufer, he went on to marry Jodie Brooke Wilson, with the pair remaining happily married until his tragic death this month.
Confirming the family’s heartache upon O’Connor’s passing, his agent said: “He is survived by his wife Jodie, their son Adam and his four daughters, Karin, TJ, Samantha and Kristina.
“Jodie’s world is shattered, she and Adam and Des’s daughters are hurting more than you could possibly imagine.”

Thankfully, his family was permitted to visit him in his final days, as they adhered to social distancing guidelines in the hospital ward.
His agent explained: “He was recovering well and had been in great spirits, visited by his family – in accordance with hospital lockdown regulations – and looking forward to going home.”
Sadly, O’Connor’s condition suddenly deteriorated, and he died in his sleep on Saturday night, leaving the entertainment world mourning his legacy.
