Emmerdale viewers were terrified Belle Dingle would murder Tracy Metcalfe (Amy Walsh) after watching Wednesday’s episode, as she approached her with a knife.
Belle, played by Eden Taylor-Draper, suffers from schizophrenia, and recent weeks have seen her mental health decline as she started to hear the voice of her late mum in her head.
Suffering an episode this evening, Belle imagined she was seeing Jamie Tate, with the voice of Lisa Dingle ordering her to murder him.
In reality, Tracy had tracked Belle down to the house, and was shaken to realise she had an enormous kitchen knife gripped in her hands.
While Belle continued to hallucinate, Tracy pleaded with her, trying her best to encourage her to put the knife down.

Pregnant with Nate Robinson’s (Jurell Carter) unborn child, she asked Belle to think of the baby as she neared closer to her, blood dripping from the blade.
Watching from home, certain viewers were horrified by the scene, fearing the worst for Tracy and predicting Belle could commit an act of murder.
One said: “Oh Belle please don’t hurt Tracy and her baby.”
“Belle’s gonna kill the baby isn’t she? #Emmerdale,” wrote a second.

And a third wrote: “Omg is she gonna stab Tracy and the baby?”
“It’s well known that Tracey loses her baby. I’m guessing this will be how it happens,” suggested a fourth.
Thankfully, after minutes of terror, Tracy managed to convince Belle of her identity, gently urging her to put the knife down.
When the rest of the Dingle family heard what happened, they were terrified, immediately ushering Belle to the hospital for medical aid.

Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) was heartbroken by the news, and decided the family needed to get rid of Jamie in an effort to keep Belle in good health.
Turning to Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley), she gave him permission to terrorize Jamie, as he disappeared off into the night.
Could Cain stretch to murder after vowing to sort Jamie out once and for all?
Emmerdale airs on weekdays at 7pm on ITV, with an extra helping at 8pm on Thursdays.
