I’m A Celebrity… A Jungle Story viewers took to Twitter tonight to express their sadness after seeing clips of the late Tara Palmer-Tomkinson during her time in the jungle.
Tara was one of eight celebs who took part in series one of I’m A Celebrity in 2002.
Tara was central to the series due to her romance with Darren Day.
The socialite, who tragically died in February 2017 at her South Kensington home aged just 45, completed the show as runner up to Tony Blackburn.
In throwback clips, Tara could be seen wrapping herself around Darren before admitting she only had eyes for him.
Standing in the middle of camp, Tara whispered: “If I could just stay in this place with just one person it would be you.”
Another clip showed the duo rowing by the stream with Tara storming off.
Taking to social media, one fan wrote: “Tara was a very worthy second place May she fly high above us x Baby angel x #imacelebrity.”
Another added: “Tara Palmer-Tomkinson lovely lady RIP what a Beautiful funny sole so sadly missed x Growing heart #imacelebrity.”
“Aww I miss Tara Palmer-Tomkinson Pensive face #ImACelebrity #AJungleStory,” third continued.
Watching the clips, Declan Donelly said to co-hostAnt McPartlin: “It had it all series one, rows, argument, romantic rows.
“It was unfolding before our eyes. It was more than whatever we expected.”
Ant added: “We just wanted to strip them back to essentials and see how they coped.”
Dec beamed: “It was brilliant, we went out there really not knowing what we were doing and then two and a half weeks later and it was a massive hit and it hasn’t looked back since them.”
This year I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! will be filmed in Wales due to the ongoing pandemic.
Rather than being set in a jungle, the show will be based at the ruins of Gwrych Castle.
Rumoured celebs taking part include Strictly Come Dancing star AJ Pritchard, BBC presenter Victoria Derbyshire and Team GB legend Mo Farah.
